1970 Mercury Monterey Convertible
Why This Car Is Special
The Mercury Monterey was a series of full-size cars that were
manufactured and marketed by the Mercury division of Ford from 1952
to 1974. Deriving its name from Monterey Bay, the Mercury Monterey
served as the upscale version of the Mercury Custom which replaced
the Mercury Eight, the debut model line of the Mercury
division.
We have a 1970 Mercury Monterey Convertible here at Skyway Classics
that is very rare as it is 1 of only 581 made and has the original
engine rebuilt with all new OEM parts, Automatic Transmission, new
upholstery front and back, new tires, and the new black vinyl
convertible top.

Mechanics
Our Merc has the original 390 cubic inch engine rebuilt with all
new OEM parts like the replaced all new OEM engine parts, new
starter, alternator, fuel pump, oil pump, 4bbl carburetor, aluminum
intake manifold, battery, water pump and new brake pads.
It is backed by an automatic transmission and has a chrome open
element air cleaner assembly, Powered by Ford valve covers, air
conditioning, power steering and brakes, performance distributor
and spark plug wires, and sits in a very original looking engine
compartment too.
It has a HD Ford rear end and rides on new raised white letter
tires on factory chrome styled wheels and has a great sound from
the dual exhaust system.
Interior
Our Merc has a great looking new interior with the full-size bench
seat, new carpet, new black vinyl convertible top, AM/FM stereo
radio, factory dash and gauges, factory air conditioning,
three-speed automatic transmission, as well as matching door panels
and carpet.
Exterior
Our Mercury has a blue/black paint job and the black convertible
top sets it off nicely. It looks mean with its black racing
stripes, blacked out grille, great trim, chrome bumpers, quad
headlights, and badging.
Conclusion
