This 1969 Jaguar XKE is a Series II coupe that is finished in dark
blue over gray leather and has been fitted with a Series I-style
clamshell hood and headlight covers. Power is provided by a
4.2-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission.
Additional equipment includes triple SU carburetors, a tubular
exhaust manifold, 15? wire wheels, and a cassette stereo. The car
was reportedly refurbished during previous ownership.
The car was repainted dark blue and the clamshell hood was modified
with headlight covers during previous ownership. Additional work is
said to have included re-chroming the bumpers along with replacing
the weather seals and other rubber gaskets. Additional equipment
includes bullet-style side mirrors mounted on the fenders, tinted
windows, and wrap-around bumpers with overriders.
Knock-off 15? wire-spoke wheels have been re-chromed and are
wrapped in 195/65 Michelin Pilot Exalto A/S tires. The selling
dealer states the shocks and suspension bushings were replaced and
the steering rack was rebuilt during prior ownership. Braking is
provided by four-wheel discs with inboard-mounted rears.
The cabin features bucket seats that have been re-trimmed in gray
leather with blue piping, and matching upholstery extends to the
center console and armrest. Amenities include a cassette stereo,
three-point seat belts, and an analog clock. An area of wear on the
left side dashboard pad is visible in the gallery below.
A wood-rimmed steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer and a
tachometer with a 5k-rpm redline, while auxiliary gauges located
centrally on the dashboard display battery voltage, oil pressure,
water temperature, and fuel level. The six digit odometer shows 18k
miles, though total mileage is unknown. According to the seller,
the gauges were refurbished during prior ownership.
The 4.2-liter inline-six is equipped with triple SU carburetors, a
tubular exhaust manifold, a dual exhaust system, twin cooling fans,
and a battery cutoff switch. The engine was overhauled in 1998.
