Vehicle Description
1998 Chevy K2500 truck is a sleeper: Very clean older K2500 ton
with extended cab, strong 6.5L turbodiesel, 5-speed manual
transmission, 2WD/4WD high/low transfer case, with under 130,000
miles on the odometer. The truck has 3,000 pound capacity Ride-Rite
air springs, a Knapheide 8' service body, and a custom-made
electrician's 10' cabover rack. I had the service body and rack
refinished and mounted on the truck by Clark Truck Equipment of
Albuquerque in 2021. Other features include a receiver hitch, LED
headlights, taillights, side marker and bed lights, and a full set
of Yokohama tires with less than 3,000 miles since new. All
electrics work including cruise control; strong heat and A/C; good
aftermarket CD player and speakers; original paint on cab with no
blisters; matching paint on service body, and new windshield.
Nonsmoking owners, and no evidence that it was ever in an accident
or deep water. This truck is a strong and capable on/off road
performer that is subtle and doesn't shout muscular masculine
bravado. To the best of my knowledge, there is nothing mechanically
wrong with the truck. It always starts and runs smoothly; the
transmission (five-speed with compound low 1st gear) was rebuilt in
December 2021 and shifts smoothly, and the clutch and transfer case
are strong. I used it in my solo off-grid solar Electrical
Contractor service business. It turns heads, too. Weaknesses: a
small tear on the side of the driver's seat; the door latches
rattle on rough roads and the window cranks are stiff. The body
side moldings are discolored by the sun. Please Note The Following
