Vehicle Description
This 1972 GMC C2500 Sierra Grande is a true classic pickup. With
its two-tone, long-bed profile, and plenty of wood-like trim -
inside and out, it's an intoxicating balance of workman vibes and
true vintage charm. But as you see upgrades like big block power,
Bluetooth radio, and modern A/C, you can understand how this also
loves to be a fun-cruising vintage pickup.
GM had some great two-tone color schemes on their pickups. After
all, it's not just a white streak on the body against the blue, but
also on the cab roof - the result is a truly layered look. Plus, we
love the way this premium Sierra Grande has the extra space of the
long bed to show off the vintage wood-like trim. You can tell they
took their time to make a solid restoration investment here.
Something that makes this quite attractive without getting too
fancy to be a truck. After all, this classic GMC is the rarer
extra-duty 2500-series. So the attractive long bed is also fully
lined. And the build tag suggests this was a camper special, and
the big side mirrors are part of this kind of detail. You even
still have the 8-lug wheels but now with modern alloys borrowed
from a later Sierra HD so you can fit a useful set of modern
tires.
There's a sea of blue inside, and vintage lovers will enjoy how
this has plenty more of the wood-like trim. In fact, this one
really has a feeling that turns back the clock, right down to
details like the texture of the steering wheel and the western-like
pattern in the seats. But what's also apparent here is the level of
investment there has been to get a time capsule impression. That
means carpeting, door panels, a dash pad, upholstery, and other
fundamentals that have a fresh and inviting feel. And there are
also the right upgrades to make this a proper cruiser, including a
Cerwin Vega stereo with USB and Bluetooth. And the factory air
conditioning has now been updated to a more modern system running
R134a refrigerant.
The engine bay gives a stock and tidy first impression. But as you
dig just a little deeper, you find some terrific upgrades. This one
is now running a 396 cubic-inch big block for the proper torque you
want in a 2500-series truck. It's further enhanced with an
Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor, an Edelbrock intake, and long
tube headers feeding a glass-pack style dual exhaust. And while you
may not need all this power for all the things this classic can do
(slide-in camper, tow the boat, pull a parade float, etc.) there's
also power steering, power brakes, front discs, and a three-speed
automatic transmission for easy all-around enjoyment.
The sale comes complete with the owner's manual and warranty card.
Classic GMCs always have more distinction because we see them as
real trucks. So this 2500-series pickup celebrates that legacy in
all the best ways. Call today!!!
