This 1962 Chevrolet Impala Super Sport is powered by a 409/409hp
Turbo-Fire V8 engine topped by a large-diameter twin-snorkel air
cleaner and a pair of dual inline 4-barrel carburetors backed by a
Muncie Hurst 4-speed manual transmission and rear differential with
bias-ply tires. Features include a new 2.5-inch exhaust system,
power steering and posi-traction. The Impala SS offered features a
standard-roofline hardtop, covered in the correct Roman Red paint
with SS identification, including the trademark stamped grille,
Impala SS rear lid trim, crossed flags on the front quarters with
409 lettering, full-length body side spear, brushed metal
tail-panel insert and bumper guards, with a chrome trim piece on
the gas cap door. It comes with its original deluxe tri-point wheel
covers on original steel rims with correct Super Cushion wide
whitewall Goodyear bias-ply tires used for shows. The exterior
paint is augmented inside with a matching bucket-seat interior that
features period early-1960s styling ideas, the column-mounted
tachometer, shift lever in a mini-consolette on the floor, a new
AM/FM original-style radio and in-dash gauges. This award-winning
restoration has taken home many awards, such as Best of Show and
Best Restoration. All of the original parts come with the car.
