Vehicle Description
This is the car that's only supposed to exist in whispers and myths
- so that's likely why it has the kind of dark style that lurks in
the shadows. It's a 1992 Chevrolet Camaro with the B4C/1LE police
package. And since this was built to be a more potent Camaro from
day one, this one has been upgraded all around to be a sleeker and
speedier cop car.
We're told this is a California Highway Patrol car that has now
retired into civilian life. Today we are always on the lookout for
these because they weren't intended to be first sold publicly. They
were extra potent police packages and they seldom got into private
hands. So that's why this one gets such special treatment. It has
sporty additions like the competition-worthy chin splitter, rear
diffuser, rear window louvers, and large rear spoiler all done in
carbon fiber. And we love the tributes to its performance past with
the blue-light halo headlights, Police interceptor windshield
banner, CHP badging, and number on the roof (yes, it's 007!) And
because the B4C cars were built to be a more incognito RS body, you
still get the rocker body kit but a smoother hood. And that just
seems to go ideally with the glossy black respray to deliver quite
a slippery-looking body. Even the correct 16-inch alloys were
painted black. The result is a car that's extra mean while still
staying faithful to what makes it special.
The interior also takes the driving experience more seriously than
stock. Procar front bucket seats and a race-ready steering wheel
will make you feel like you joined the pursuit division of Chips.
But more than pure performance, this one also likes to feel quite
comfortable. It's loaded with features, including power windows,
power locks, tilt steering, cruise control, and cold-blowing air
conditioning. There's even a fully upgraded stereo with Bluetooth
and a custom CHP Camaro subwoofer enclosure in the trunk. While all
of these are great features, the one you'll enjoy showing off the
most is the special instrument cluster with a 140 MPH speedometer
and 5500 redline tach.
Part of what makes the police package so special is extra power
unleashed from the Camaro's small block. So we're told this one
keeps that tradition going in a unique way with a 383 cubic-inch
stroker motor. And the Corvette plaque in the fuel injection intake
is a nice nod to the B2L motor that came on the B4C Camaros. This
police package was equipped with the elusive 1LE option that was
supposed to only be available to SCCA racers. Once again, this car
takes that spirit and amplifies it with modern upgrades like a
Spohn tubular A-arm front suspension, thick sway bars, upgraded
springs, and Bilstein shocks. And with four-wheel power disc
brakes, power steering, a four-speed automatic transmission
w/overdrive, and modern BF Goodrich gForce tires, this very
distinct collectible car is also begging to be driven.
Complete with a car cover, a B4C Camaro is a truly rare find, and
this one is like they turned one into Super Pursuit Mode. So if
you're looking for power, style, comfort, and distinction, this is
your Camaro. Call today!!!
