Vehicle Description
This custom 1952 Chevrolet 3100 pickup known as "Phantom Fleetside"
is a beautiful one-of-a-kind truck, designed and built by Kindig-It
Design and featured on "Bitchin' Rides" Season 1, Episode 8. It
started life as a Suburban - the top was removed and replaced with
a 5-window truck roof. The bed sides and rear were capped off and
leveled to look as if the factory did it. The running boards are
custom hourglass-shaped, the door handles are Smooth Classic by
Kindig and the headlights are frenched in. The exterior is finished
in PPG Audi Salsa Red and Chrysler Beige - two-tone and polished to
perfection. The bumpers are smoothed over and tripled-plated by
Ogden Chrome. The bed floor is done perfectly in wormy maple. Under
the hood is a beast of an LS3 engine topped with a Magnuson
supercharger and backed by a TREMEC T56 6-speed manual transmission
- putting out 625hp at the crank and 430rwhp. The engine is
finished in Chrysler Beige, and the polished aluminum is detailed
perfectly, with a Tru Trac accessory drive from Billet Specialties
to finish it off. The ceramic-coated exhaust system contains the
under-hood temperatures from the headers through the Flowmaster
mufflers and out the tailpipes, but if you decide to meet the
neighbors, simply push the "Zoomie" button, bypass the mufflers and
relive your reckless youth. The Fleetside resides on an Art
Morrison chassis with custom IFS front and triangulated 4-link rear
attached to a Mosser Ford 9-inch rear axle detailed to perfection
in matching red paint and all-chromed hardware. Wilwood disc brakes
do all the stopping, thanks to 6-piston front and 4-piston rear
discs. Doing its best to hide brakes are Billet Specialties Legacy
2G 19x8 and 20x10 wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Super Sport
tires. Inside the cab is the fine work of JS Custom Interiors,
featuring power Silverado seats and custom panels wrapped in Taupe
and Bone leather, sitting upon matching wool carpet. Other creature
comforts include custom Dakota Digital gauges, a Vintage Air
system, USB ports and a Kicker Bluetooth audio system. This truly
is one "Bitchin' Ride."
