Vehicle Description
You instantly notice a car like this 1940 Ford Tudor Streetrod.
It's the kind of custom build that goes well beyond the vivid
paintwork. As you dig into the details, it reveals an upgraded
suspension, custom leather A/C interior, overdrive transmission,
and four-wheel disc brakes. Plus, when you see such a mean big tire
stance, you'll be glad to know there's a dual-quad V8 under the
hood.
Deep purple paint with plenty of metallic is a terrific way to add
extra emphasis to the rounded roof style that makes this Ford an
icon. This vividness is balanced nicely with a sophisticated
champagne tan on the bottom. The paint and turquoise pinstriping is
used as an explicit border while still being smooth. And smoothness
is an overall theme here. It's not only in the way the light rolls
along the finish but also in custom details like the shaved door
handles, integrated front turn signals, deleted trim, single-piece
windshield, frenched tail lights, and frenched license plate. Even
classic stock 1940 pieces are now dripping with enough chrome to
make them sleeker, like the rounded chrome bumpers and the
waterfall grille. It's the kind of straightforward style that takes
a while to get right. This build was started in the early 2000s,
and you even get plenty of organized build receipts and a photo
file to take you along the transformation journey. And while we
don't know how many miles this went since it was completed, it
appears to have encountered reasonable care and less use. Then
again, with the mean stance from those massive Hoosier Pro Street
rear tires, this one looks impressive just standing still.
The cool suicide doors open wide to reveal the custom interior
fully. The recipes document over $16k invested on the interior
alone in 2013, so you know you're in for a custom and comfy
experience. It starts with nicely bolstered front buckets borrowed
from a modern car. They are finished in supple leather and power
adjust to the ideal position. The matching rear bench seat, custom
door panels, headliner, and trunk are in a similar beige. And there
are terrific details everywhere, from the overhead console to the
stitching in the door panels that announce this is a '40 Ford.
Plus, we love how the exterior's purple and pink pinstriping flows
through the door jambs and onto the dash for a tasteful and uniform
appearance. You have many great convenient features like power
windows and cold-blowing air conditioning. Even good fundamentals
like a backup camera are just ready for you to install a modern
infotainment system. The leather-wrapped sports steering wheel is
on a tilt steering column, and the dash is dominated by AutoMeter
Pro-Comp gauges. So this custom Ford is ready for fun.
The high-polish engine bay means even the heart of this custom is
attractive. Of course, when you also have a shotgun air intake, you
know it's meant to be shown off. And beneath the dual barrels is a
350 cubic-inch V8 with two Edelbrock four-barrel carburetors. The
700R4 is a four-speed automatic transmission, and this feeds a
strong Ford 9-inch rear end. While this is a powerful setup, this
was also built with cruising in mind. After all, the transmission
also has highway-friendly overdrive. Plus, you have a tubular A-arm
independent front suspension, ladder bars in the rear, adjustable
coilovers, power steering, and Wilwood four-wheel power disc brakes
with drilled and slotted rotors.
