Coming off a great deal of success in years prior, the 1959 Ford
Thunderbird had an excellent track record and didn't slow down in
popularity. >From previous sales recorded, this model actually
improved their popularity as it went on to push almost 70,000 sales
taking flight to a whole new status. For the first time in
automotive history, this vehicle was declared Motor Trends "Car of
the Year" this year and was the first individual model to be called
such. From the year prior, the model didn't change much except for
a newer, larger engine option and was Fords most expensive model
available throughout their lineup. "Personal Luxury" was
personified by this model as it was given an option of leather
seating and the revolution began for this legendary model.
