Vehicle Description
2003 Ford Thunderbird Black Convertible
Why This Car Is Special
The Ford Thunderbird is a rear wheel drive automobile which was
manufactured by Ford in the United States over eleven model
generations from 1955 through 2005. The Thunderbird created a
market niche that eventually became known as the personal luxury
car.
In 2002-2005, production of the Thunderbird ran again, returning to
the original formula for the Thunderbird, the latest version had a
two-seat coupe/convertible layout like the first-generation
Thunderbird and retro-futuristic styling to match.
We have a beautiful triple-black 2003 Ford Thunderbird here at
Skyway Classics, now in its second year, that looks great in its
black paint with both the convertible top and the "Porthole"
hardtop.

Mechanical Specs
The sole engine of the Thunderbird was a Jaguar-designed AJ-30 3.9
L DOHC V8 engine that was a short-stroke variant of the Jaguar
AJ-26 4.0 L V8.
The Thunderbird gains 28 more horsepower and 25 more pound-feet of
torque, bringing the totals to 280 and 286, respectively as the
bump in power is due to new electronic throttle control and
variable cam timing. All-speed traction control comes standard.
Power gets to the ground on Ford factory chrome mag wheels and
black sidewall performance tires as the exhaust makes a great sound
as it exits out the rear thru duals and dual tips.
The eleventh generation Thunderbird was based on the company's
DEW98 platform, which was shared with the Lincoln LS and Jaguar
S-Type that gives it that great handling with its power steering
and power disc brakes.
Interior
Our Thunderbird's has an black/grey interior with twin front bucket
seats and headrests, instrument panel that features the retro-look
gauge cluster, real aluminum trim, center console, tilt steering
wheel, leather shift knob, power seats, locks, and windows, with
black carpeting.
The trunk looks as new too with the trunk liner in place and has a
lot of storage area for luggage or even golf clubs.
Exterior
The T-Bird looks great with its triple black look including the
black convertible top and the black painted hardtop ready to put on
when you need it. You will love the look of the porthole top as it
does remind you of the 50s T-Birds.
The low hood scoop and long sweeps of the fenders make for lovely
scenery out the chrome-ringed and radically curved windshield.
Conclusion
The 2003 Ford Thunderbird we have here at Skyway Classics looks so
good, from the chrome "Thunderbird" script to the rear taillights,
the Thunderbird looks dramatic.
Its appeal is as a stylish cruiser that some say was the coolest
ride Ford has created since the original Mustang.
