Vehicle Description
This custom 1940 Ford pickup build started with a 100% steel clean
shell that has been carefully worked on to create a glass-smooth
finish. The attention to detail carried through to the orange
paintwork, which is highlighted by the signature 1940 Ford chrome
grille and headlight rings, gives this car tremendous visual
presence. A custom hard-shell tonneau, rear roll pan with
integrated exhaust pipes and shaved door handles complete the car's
sleek look. The staggered set of Colorado Custom billet aluminum
wheels give off a sporty feel, with a matching steering wheel on
the inside. Under the hood, a Ford Racing 302ci V8 engine has
replaced the original engine and kept the vehicle all-Ford. The
carburetor was replaced with a FAST fuel-injection system, resting
on an Edelbrock manifold that improves both drivability and
reliability. These are paired with a Mallory ignition system and a
full serpentine belt drive system. The engine sends its power
through an AOD 4-speed automatic transmission with overdrive. The
suspension received numerous reinforcement measures to keep up with
the more powerful engine, and a set of airbag suspension was
installed at an adjustable ride height. The original steering box
was replaced with a more precise rack & pinion setup, and the rear
has a 4-link setup built around the tried-and-true Ford 9-inch rear
end. Venturing inside, the vehicle features two bucket seats
wrapped in tan leather with a specially built center console
dividing them. The center console includes conveniences like cup
holders and storage space. An additional feature of an overhead
console on the roof houses the AM/FM/CD stereo, which sends music
through multiple in-cabin speakers, including two on the roof, a
subwoofer beneath the seats and an amplifier color-matched to the
exterior that is prominently placed on the rear bulkhead. The
dashboard has a stock look but has been upgraded with a wood-grain
veneer and a set of gauges from Classic Instruments. Modern
amenities are accounted for in this vehicle, including a tilt
steering column, power windows and air conditioning.
