Vehicle Description
This 1949 Willys Overland pickup underwent a complete top-to-bottom
restoration. It is powered by a 134ci inline 4-cylinder engine
mated to a T-90 3-speed manual gearbox. The pickup also has
4-wheel-drive, which is run through a 2-speed transfer case and
features locking front hubs. This example was purchased in 2015 and
was then sent to marque experts Willys America where, between 2016
and 2018, the chassis was powder-coated, all mechanicals were
rebuilt and the truck was fully repainted. Finished in a shade of
dark green, the wheels and pinstriping were finished in a
period-correct pale yellow. During the restoration, no stone was
left unturned when rebuilding or replacing every component. On the
inside, a gray vinyl bench seat and original 2-spoke steering wheel
are present, along with a heater, driver's-side sun visor and glove
compartment. Although Willys is largely known for the design and
production of military Jeeps, it also produced capable and reliable
civilian vehicles like this Jeep pickup. This restoration cost over
$85,000. A full binder with shop receipts is included with the
sale, along with two sets of keys and an owner's manual.
