1965 Chevrolet Corvette Fuelie for sale! Motorcar Classics is
pleased to offer this Corvette Stingray presented in Milano Maroon
with Black leather interior. This Corvette is a desirable 327/375HP
Fuelie with a M22 4-speed manual transmission and is all numbers
matching. The original fuel injection system was removed from the
car and replaced with a carbureted system. The original fuel
injection system does still come with the car however. This
exampled was restored roughly 20 years ago and was originally a GG
code Glen Green paint color, which was only offered for 1 year. The
car was maintained well and is in our opinion a number 2 car
described as high level driver. The 98,825 are believed to be
original miles. The car was reportedly previously owned by Corvette
historian and "Fuelie" expert Jim Gessler, who purchased the car
from the original owner in 1969. The car spent most of its life in
Southern California. Other specs include: Edelbrock 4 barrel
carburetor and intake manifold, popup headlights, wipers, aluminum
5 Kelsey Hayes knock off wheels, side mounted exhaust system,
teakwood steering wheel, factory tinted glass, 4:11 rear end,
period correct red line tires.1965 was the last year of the fuel
injected corvettes, with only 771 made. This rare example was
fitted from the factory with the transistor ignition fuel injection
system, which added 10 more HP. 1965 was the first year that the
Corvette came with 4-wheel disc brakes. The original fuel injection
system was replaced recently in 2022 with a more reliable 4 barrel
carburetor. However, If the new owners wishes, we can deliver the
car with the original fuel injection system re-installed. Your
inspection is invited!
