1966 Cadillac DeVille Hardtop Sedan - 429ci V8 - Automatic
Transmission - 22k Miles Shown - Strathmore White With A Black
Vinyl Top - Black Interior - Power Steering and Brakes - Power
Windows and Locks - Lots of Maintenance Records - Full Ownership
History Featured here is a great classic luxury car in this 1966
Cadillac DeVille. This car has its complete ownership documented
and includes a plethora of maintenance records as well. The
odometer shows 22,456 miles on it and this car is largely in
original condition and in very good operating order making this an
affordable vehicle to purchase, enjoy and do some light cosmetic
restoration on as you enjoy it. This Caddy is painted the factory
Strathmore White, with much of the original paint present but some
amateur spot paint repairs have been made to the finish.
Understandably this 57-year-old finish also has several scratches
and chips in the paint but overall, the paint still has a nice
shine to it and exhibits well. The original black top is still in
place and is starting to delaminate slightly near the rear quarter
panels, but there does not appear to be any underlying surface rust
under the top or around the windows. All the stainless trim is in
place and will require some light restoration to remove some
buffing scratches and the chrome bumpers present with a rich luster
showing only some light patina. Inside the cabin is completely
original and well preserved. The seat upholstery is free of any
heavy wear, tears or pulls and is only showing some light color
fade. The carpet is original with some wear near the thresholds but
retains rich color. The door panels are original and in good
condition, and the factory floor mats are still in place. As
expected, this vintage luxury car is well optioned with power
windows, power locks, and power seats as well as factory air
conditioning (needs service) with AM radio with rear speakers.
Under the hood has been lightly detailed and presents nicely with
some recent service to the cooling system with new hoses and
coolant and fan belts. The factory 429 V8 still sits between the
frame rails and starts up easily with the choke fully operating.
Shifting is smooth and handled by a GM 3-speed Turbo-Hydramatic
400. Underneath the frame and floors are unrestored showing no
indications of any rust or accident repair and appears to have been
lightly undercoated early on in its ownership. The power-assisted
four-wheel drum brakes have been recently serviced including new
rubber lines. New stabilizer bar links have been installed and this
car was recently treated to a fresh full exhaust. The power
steering is effortless as you guide this car floating down the
highway riding on steel 15 wheels with the original wheel covers
and wrapped in Hankook P235/75R15 Mileage Plus radial tires. This
Cadillac cruises very smoothly and the patina is just right as it
is for a great vintage driver, however, a paint job would go a long
way to dress this car up. It should be noted this car comes with
some extra parts, including a carburetor with a rebuild kit, power
seat assembly, engine gasket kit, and a full set of service
manuals. Please email or call with any questions. Thank you for
looking.
