Vehicle Description
STK 3400 1934 Ford Model 40 Deluxe Roadster
The 1934 Ford roadster was sold as Standard or Deluxe model. Both
were beautiful cars, but the Deluxe 'option' added one color paint
(body and fenders), chrome exterior accents, interior wood accents
and additional lights. This 1934 Ford Roadster, believed to be a
Deluxe, comes with a pedigree - it is from the collection of the
late Ford restoration specialist Dennis Carpenter here is North
Carolina. The Ford was the beneficiary of a full restoration by the
Carpenter team. The beautiful body was carefully prepped and a
fresh coat of Ford Cardoba Gray (tan) was professionally applied.
Chrome is outstanding with accents that include front/rear bumpers,
classic hood ornament and dual fog lights/horns. Other features
include suicide doors, rear fender skirts encased continental tire,
folding luggage rack and a nice tan convertible top. The classic
windshield w/chrome frame mounts a single vacuum driven wiper.
Factory 17" red wire wheels with 'V8' center caps mount Firestone
wide-white bias ply tires and complete the exterior package. The
passenger compartment, beautifully reupholstered in handsome tufted
brown leather, looks better than new. A walnut dash holds working
gauges behind a classic spoke wheel. The rumble seat area is also
outstanding with new brown leather upholstery. The owner states
that this Ford is powered by a 221ci flathead V-8 that is
period-correct and totally rebuilt. Output for these motors was
rated at 85 hp. It runs as smooth as silk and is backed by a
3-speed manual transmission with factory floor mounted shifter. The
fully restored chassis mounts a transverse leaf spring suspension.
Mechanical drum brakes handle stopping requirements and the 6-volt
electrical system performs very well. This pristine '34 Ford Deluxe
roadster will certainly be the centerpiece of your Blue Oval
garage. ALL VEHICLES SOLD "AS IS".
