Vehicle Description
This 1980 Jeep CJ5 is an extra-sharp looking 4x4 that makes for an
excellent classic cruiser. And while the overall appearance may
seem too pretty to get dirty, the upgraded small block V8 power is
certainly ready to get you through any time you feel like getting
into mischief.
All Jeeps are great outdoor machines, but you'll be taking this one
out of the garage for a very different reason. The paint is a fresh
update with a smooth shine and a terrific radiance. So you'll love
getting it out in the sunshine just to get the metallic to really
pop. It brings an elevated sense of style to the classic smooth
Jeep lines. There's also another secret here. The name Firethorn
Red Metallic tells us it's a color borrowed from General Motors,
and so it hints at what powers this CJ. And while the paint gives
you style, the black elements highlight the substance. You see it
in the upgraded tubular front bumper with brush guard, tubular side
steps, flared fenders, and upgraded wheels with full-size spare on
the rear. And when you have the full soft top and doors in place,
all the black creates a well-coordinated two-tone.
The interior continues the feeling of a thoughtful mix of style and
substance. The bold exterior red returns on the dash and roll bar,
and it's joined by rugged black liner paint for the whole inner
tub. There are convenient features like a cup holder center
console, front shoulder seatbelts, and an AM/FM/CD stereo with
Bluetooth. There's even a bikini top for those times when you want
to be open to the world while keeping the sunshine off your
shoulders. Newer Bestop front seats, a grippy steering wheel, and a
handy tach are all part of a commanding driving position.
The engine bay is tidy with plenty of bright matching GM red paint.
That makes it easier to show off this upgrade powerhouse. This is
the mighty Chevy 350 cubic-inch V8, and we all know how these love
upgrades. That's why it already has an Edelbrock four-barrel
carburetor, an Edelbrock Performer RPM intake, and Hedman headers
feeding into the newer dual exhaust. So it gives you fun power now,
and plenty of added potential if you ever want to make any further
modifications. It's not meant to be a muscle car, instead, the V8
gives you a nice tune out of the exhaust, and the big torque that
works with the four-wheel drive for a go-anywhere kind of feeling.
Plus, the power steering, front disc brakes, and control of
four-on-the-floor mean even urban/suburban outings are fun. As you
look underneath, everything from the clean metal to the new poly
body mounts and suspension pieces from Rough Country really shows
the investment in total quality. So it's a confident drive no
matter if you're having fun in town or fully embracing the 4x4
spirit.
