Vehicle Description
A little bit of fun, a little bit of history, and plenty of V8
attitude... that's what you get in this 1971 Ford F-100 Explorer.
It's a fully restored package that has a great classic look with
terrific upgrades - like an overdrive transmission - to deliver
quite a nice cruiser.
This truck was given a full frame-off restoration to be a
sharp-looking truck that likes to balance vintage style with added
flair. For example, the factory-correct Lime Gold was given a
quality respray, and the modern metallic element adds an extra
radiance. The nice gloss also helps the sunlight show off the crisp
and clean sheet metal. Adding to the shine is a solid investment in
brightwork pieces like the bumpers, grille, and trim. But the
high-quality classic style is only part of this Ford's
presentation. The side exhaust tips and Torq Thrust wheels with an
18/20 inch front/rear stance give this a touch of street machine
attitude. It's not trying to be a mean machine, but it does like to
show the world that there's some added cruiser fun to this one.
The green returns inside to accent the doors and dash, but what
really catches your eye is all the fresh and dark components. The
smooth dash pad, plush carpeting with thick black mats, and custom
door panels remind you this had a thoughtful restoration. And we
especially love the seat. It is contoured to offer bucket-like
comfort to make this an all-day kind of cruiser. In fact, you can
feel the driver-oriented attention with details like the upgraded
sports steering wheel, Lokar-style shifter, and a full set of
back-lit Dolphin gauges. It's such a thoughtful style that even the
upgraded AM/FM/CD stereo with Bluetooth has a cool green glow to
coordinate with the dash.
Under the hood is a 351 cubic-inch V8. While a small block like
this gave these F-100s very respectable power, this one gets the
job done even better. It's built with a Quick Fuel 700 CFM
four-barrel carburetor, and the mild cam with lifters adds to the
powerful feel and a nice tune out of the dual exhaust. Plus, it has
all the right supporting components, like the Ford Racing valve
covers, steel braided lines with AN fittings, and an aluminum
radiator with dual electric fans. It makes for a stout total
package, and it loves to get you down the road near or far thanks
to an upgrade to a rebuilt four-speed automatic transmission with
overdrive that was installed only about 500 miles ago. And power
steering, power brakes, front discs, and Ford's famous twin I-beam
front suspension with newer bushings, make this powerful pickup a
great all-around driver.
The sale comes complete with the owner's manual and restoration
photos. This is a true classic F-100 that has been upgraded to
