For Sale: 1984 Jeep CJ7 in Lutz, Florida

Vehicle Description

This 1984 Jeep CJ7 is a long-term first-owner 4x4, and it has only had one owner since then. He's taken the time to invest in a comprehensive restoration. The result is a classic CJ with a terrific history, great paperwork, and a sharp style that tells its full story with pride.

The info that we have on this CJ is that it was with its first owner for 37 years. It changed hands for the first time in 2021, and its second owner (and the only other one thus far) invested more than $8k in materials alone for the comprehensive restoration. So you'll enjoy going through the receipts to show all that went back into this Jeep. So you get the best of both worlds: long-term care and a fresh build feeling. The body was stripped to bare metal and then given a professional application of silver metallic paint. This is the factory-correct hue using a modern Chrysler palette, so it's a way to say family-correct while adding a brilliant distinction. Plus, the added Renegade stripe kit looks especially bold against silver. New stainless bumpers (great for looks and durability), a new windshield frame and glass, new tailgate seals, new wiper arms, and new headlights show all-around investment in this CJ. Even the black vinyl soft top, soft doors, and bikini top all look great. Nothing on this Jeep looks out of place, right down to the classic-style American Racing Outlaw II wheels. It just looks like a premium time capsule where hitting the road in this CJ7 today will look like it's the summer of 1984.

There are more investments inside, so the black vinyl including the seats, dash pad, and all the other essentials have the feeling of fresh quality - right down to the padding on the roll bar. So while the mileage on the odometer is undefined, it basically feels 55 miles fresh. You can see this one has also been built with the right rugged features, like true Rhino Liner paint protecting the full inner tub. But a big part of this restoration meant giving you better creature comforts inside. The front bucket seats are nicely bolstered for comfort. There are also shoulder belts and a lockable center console in-between. The stereo is a retro sound AM/FM stereo with aux input, and it's your gateway to the Rockford Fosgate speakers system. The dealer invoice even shows that this started with the rarely-seen air conditioning option. It has been converted to R134a but will need servicing to blow cold again. And items like the clear gauges, grippy steering wheel, new shift knobs, and new pedals are all part of a solid driver's package.

Under the hood is Jeep's stout 258 cubic-inch inline-six. With such a well-known history, this is believed to be the original powerhouse. There is even documentation showing the motor and the head have both been professionally rebuilt. It's a strong motor, and you control it with a smooth-shifting four-speed manual transmission (also believed to be original.) The fresh style underneath shows off more attention to detail, including newer shocks and exhaust components. Plus, the gearing of both axles was changed to a versatile 3.73 later in life. There are great anytime driving features like power steering, front disc brakes, and an upgraded limited-slip rear end. And while this may seem too pretty to get dirty, the two-speed 4x4 transfer case and deep treads on the Cooper Discoverer tires can keep you going long after the pavement ends.

The sale comes complete with some terrific paperwork. This includes the original bill of sale, dealer invoice copy, title documentation, maintenance records, build receipts, and restoration photos. It proves this is an ultra-desirable low-owner CJ. So don't let this opportunity get away, call today!
