Vehicle Description
This 1987 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS is a two-owner car that is a
benchmark car for most of us. It's so well presented and preserved
that just one look will ignite a memory of when we first saw this
distinctive aerodynamic shape. And when was the last time nostalgia
came with A/C comfort, V8 power, an overdrive transmission, and
T-tops?
This is one of the last great cool personal coupes. The design of
the Monte Carlo SS was all about being aerodynamically enhanced.
The front end had a special design to cut the air, and there's a
small ducktail spoiler on the rear. Even the badging was kept
aerodynamic, so it correctly wears its SS designation in bold red
decals on the doors and rear. This looks great with the wraparound
triple stripe that fades into darker shades for a sporty style. It
looks particularly nice against the factory-correct white paint
that we believe is original to the car. And when something looks
this good 35+ years later, you know it has been a well-respected
coupe. That's why even the low odometer is believed to represent
the full mileage.
Another reason we like the darker style of the exterior stripe is
because it nicely connects with the full maroon interior. It makes
for a nice color coordination that will have you taking the T-tops
out to show it all off. You'll also be showcasing this interior
because it's such a well-preserved time capsule. But this is not
just the kind of car you buy to admire, because after all, a Monte
Carlo SS should represent the ideal balance of comfort and
performance. The front bucket seats provide good bolstering, but
they still give the same all-day comfort you expect in any Monte
Carlo. Plus, there's a center console for added relaxation. It's a
luxury performance car, so you get plenty of comfort features such
as power windows, power locks, cruise control, tilt wheel, and
cold-blowing air conditioning. The driver faces a black factory
performance steering wheel on a tilt column. In front of that is a
sporty full gauge package, and it's all set in a dash that carries
a sporty red stripe, just like the exterior.
Under the hood is the 305 cubic-inch High Output small block, and
this looks as preserved and maintained as the rest of the car. Just
like the best Monte Carlos before it, this V8 is topped with a
Rochester four-barrel carburetor - but now it's computer-controlled
for optimal performance. This creates a torque-filled package that
is ideal no matter if you're using this personal coupe for luxury
or performance. The same goes for great anytime features like the
power steering, power brakes, front discs, and the four-speed
automatic transmission with highway-friendly overdrive.
The sale comes complete with the warranty card and owner's manual.
Rarely do you get to find a well-preserved classic like this, and
the secret here is it's even believed to have spent much of its
life as a local car. So if you're looking for an exceptional
example of the Montie SS you've always wanted, you can't let this
two-owner T-top coupe slip away. Call today!!!
