Vehicle Description
Another beautiful Basil Classic...this 1975 Hurst Olds with only
47,189 miles has been handpicked and meets Joe Basil's standards of
excellence and tradition of fine automobiles since 1951. This
vehicle is truly one of a kind and coolest and rarest Olds that you
will find! This is such a cool car! Buy with confidence!!*The
history of the vehicle speaks for itself:*This car is one of 1,293
white Hurst Olds produced in 1975! Cameo white exterior, white seat
interior with black dash and carpet. T-tops with white vinyl top.
No rips or tears in the seats, they look very good. The front
bucket seat covers are the original "reversible" Hurst Olds seat
covers -- an innovative idea that never really caught on. This is
the W-25 package with the Rocket 350 Olds VS engine and TH350
transmissions. Original Hurst dual gate automatic shifter. Pump the
gas pedal, and the car starts right up and drives smoothly!*A
message from the previous owner:*I am, I believe, the third owner
of this car, having owned it for over ten years in Texas. The
previous owner was an attorney in the San Francisco, CA area. It
has been driven very sparingly, and has been stored and maintained
in my garage, out of the hot Lexas sun. The mechanical functioning
is very fine. no known issues. It has the original motor and
transmission. The carburetor was replaced by the previous owner and
has held up. The most recent work to it has been replacing the
battery and the wiper blades, this August. The car has recently
passed inspection. Cosmetically, the car looks very good. Straight
frame and body. never in an accident. It could easily be restored
to like-new condition if the next owner wanted to, without too much
effort. Even now it turns heads. In fact, this car turned the head
of a Texas state trooper, who, as he passed me, gave me a big smile
and a thumbs up - true story! I am approaching 70 years of age, so
I really should pass this beauty on to the next person who
appreciates these vintage Oldsmobile's the way I do. I am an Olds
enthusiast and own or have owned the following: 1966 Olds 442: 1967
Olds Cutlass convertible: 1975 Hurst Olds (this car): 1979 Hurst
Olds: and 1984 Hurst OldsMileage: 47,189AC: workingNeeds List:There
are a few minor cosmetic and other issues. The paint job still
shines and looks fine but if you get up close, you will see
cracking. The Hurst Olds gold pinstriping has some wear and tear,
as seen in the photos. The "fasten seatbelt" light (idiot light) in
the instrument cluster comes on when you put the key in the
ignition and doesn't shut off after you fasten your belt. The
plastic swivel knob for the driver's seat broke off. There are some
minor rust spots here and there, otherwise it really is essentially
rust-free. The T-top on the driver's side has a thin line (crack)
but does not leak. The tires have very low miles (
