This custom 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air Wagon was featured on the finale
episode of "Detroit Steel" on the HISTORY Channel and the Hot Rod
Power Tour 2022. It was brought back to life by Mobsteel and is
powered by a 6.2-liter LS3 V8 engine equipped with an All-American
Billet serpentine pulley kit paired to a 4-speed 4L80E automatic
transmission and updated with RideTech street-grip suspension. It
features A-arm tubular control arms and coilover adjustable shocks
for high-performance handling, modern ride quality and lowered ride
height. This wagon also features a QuickTime performance 9-inch
posi-traction rear end with a 3.73 gear ratio. Engineered Wilwood
disc brakes all the way around for high-performance braking and an
Ididit tilt steering column to make the ride that much more
comfortable. A Holley Performance fuel delivery system ensures
adequate fuel, while a staggered set of 18-inch and 20-inch Detroit
Steel Wheel Co. rims wrapped in Diamond Back classic red line
tires. The exterior of the vehicle was untouched and left as
original as possible. All-new premium glass was put in and the
floor was replaced by a one-piece all-steel floor. The brand-new
full custom red interior was installed, along with a Dakota Digital
dash and a Vintage Air system to ensure a cool ride. It is equipped
with a RetroSound radio with pioneer speakers and a RainGear
electric wiper conversion. This car has that old-school look with
all the modern amenities, and was featured on center stage at TEDx
Detroit 2022.
