Vehicle Description
1986 Jeep Grand Wagoneer - 5.9L V8 - Automatic Transmission - 4x4 -
Brown Exterior With Wood Panels - Tan Interior - 160k Miles Shown
Jeep's advertising in the mid-80's touted the Grand Wagoneer as the
ultimate wagon. At the time, which was before the SUV could be
found in a majority of garages in America, that sentiment made
sense. Families still drove around in station wagons and enjoyed
the extra cargo space of the wagon. The Wagoneer offered another
couple of perks which station wagons didn't offer, which was more
ground clearance, and the all important, available 4 Wheel Drive.
No more rocking your rear wheel drive station wagon back and forth
if it was stuck in snow or mud. In a Jeep, a quick repositioning of
the transfer case selector lever, meant that the Wagoneer has 4
Wheel Drive to help get through any terrain or conditions that it
may run into. Presented here is a Grand Wagoneer which spent a
considerable amount of time in North Carolina before making its way
to our area. Its exterior is finished in what Jeep called Dark
Honey Metallic over a Tan interior. Other highlights include a 5.9
Liter V8 under the hood, 4x4, power windows, locks, and seats,
cargo cover, and of course the familiar interior and exterior wood
trim. Faux wood exterior trim makes Grand Wagoneers like this one
unmistakable in a sea of modern SUV's. Dark Honey Metallic paint
covers the non-wood sections of the vehicle, with the painted
surfaces even and glossy. Chrome bumpers, roof rack, door handles,
and mirrors add a little contrast to the tan exterior. Jeep multi
spoke wheels are wrapped in white stripe tires The interior, which
closely matches the exterior, features vinyl and cloth trimmed
seats, vinyl, faux wood, and carpet trimmed door panels, with a
bench style seat in the front. Interior conveniences include power
locks, power seats, and power windows, including the rear window.
Mounted on the tilt steering column is a column shift gear lever,
and a 2WD or 4WD selector lever mounted on the floor within easy
reach of the driver. Light colored faux wood trim abounds on the
dashboard while just above the trim is a climate control unit, and
an AM/FM/cassette radio. Here's your chance to enjoy an SUV from
the early days of the sport utility vehicle market. Dare we say
that it could even be considered a classic SUV? No matter how you
slice it, the Grand Wagoneer is a handsome, rugged vehicle that is
ready to tackle any conditions that are thrown at it. Trips to the
store, or down trails this Grand Wagoneer will get you to your
destination in style and comfort. Please call if interested or
