This 1927 Ford Sedan Delivery is a rewarding rat rod kind of build
with serious V8 power, four-wheel disc brakes, and distinct
patina-style touches inside and out. It makes for a truly distinct
street machine.
While the sedan delivery vehicles were great workmen for hauling
goods back in the day, this one has a pure mean attitude that looks
like it's only out to haul asphalt. The full patina-style paint job
sets the tone for a true driver. And all that yellow custom
pinstriping and Ace of Spades graphic are exactly what you want on
a proper rat rod. It has all the best street machine details, like
a forward-leaning stance from the drop-axle front end, shaved
handles, a sun visor drilled for speed holes, and a deleted rear
bumper so you can get a good look at the rear suspension. And we
especially like the classic quarter-mile king look that comes from
smaller Rocker racing wheels in front and polished Cragars with fat
rear tires where the power meets the pavement.
The interior shows off an added thoughtfulness within this rat rod
style. For example, the dual bucket seats need to have a well-aged
style to go with the theme, but the leather upholstery means it's
going to continue to wear in much nicer. In-between the seats is a
steel center console with two cup holders welded into it. The
dual-spoke steering wheel and dash have a pure classic cool
appearance, and the classic-style AutoMeter readouts fit in well
while offering proper info. The rear hatch opens up to show off the
classic steamer trunk. They used this to hide the more modern fuel
cell and battery.
The engine is on display to make sure people pay attention to the
boldest part of this build. After all, those red Ford Motorsports
valve covers just know how to command attention. Behind it is a
Ford 302 cubic-inch V8 with upgrades like a Holley four-barrel
carburetor and a Mallory HEI distributor. This feeds a C4
three-speed automatic transmission on its way to a stout Ford
9-inch rear end. As you look underneath, you'll spot a four-link
suspension at each end, rear adjustable coilovers, and four-wheel
disc brakes. So it's an ideal street machine setup.
A patina rat rod sedan delivery is a mouthful to say because this
packs so much uniqueness into one cool package. Call today!!!
