Vehicle Description
This 1961 Chevrolet Corvette convertible was treated to a
no-expense-spared body-off restoration performed by the early
Corvette specialists at Sierra Auto Restoration in Sonoma, CA, at
the end of 2006. No part of the car was overlooked, as every
component was either replaced or meticulously restored to correct
factory specification. The exterior was stripped to the gel coat.
then prepped and painted in Fawn Beige Metallic with Ermine White
coves; a matching Fawn Beige interior and a new white top were
installed to match. All factory stainless steel has been
hand-polished and all the chrome was replated. The 283/270hp V8
engine, the original AFB dual 4-barrel carburetors and the 4-speed
manual transmission were completely rebuilt to GM specification.
The brakes, suspension, ball joints and all other steering
components were replaced with new. Likewise, all wiring and the
harnesses are brand-new, while the original gauges and the Wonder
Bar radio were completely rebuilt. Only 50 test miles have
accumulated since the restoration.
