This 1961 Oldsmobile Dynamic 88 2-door sport coupe bubble top is
powered by its factory 394/88hp Sky Rocket V8 engine complemented
by a 3-speed automatic transmission. This car has been restored to
factory specifications with its original interior. In a move to
modernize its lineup, Oldsmobile introduced a completely new 88 for
1961: the one-year-only bubble top. The full-size car was now
shorter, lower and narrower than its predecessor, while utilizing
the same 123-inch wheelbase. With styling inspired by the
burgeoning Space Race, General Motors' "Rocket" division produced a
car that looked fast even while sitting still. This well-preserved
original car remains in near factory condition. It has its
tri-colored original interior and carpet, proving - along with all
factory date-coded glass - that this handsome one-year-only coupe
car received remarkable care throughout its life. It is equipped
with options that include power steering, power brakes, a
Hydramatic transmission, AM radio, trunk opener and air
conditioning. Highlights include a Space-Age dash cluster with
all-original trim and a deep-dish steering wheel that was a
distinctive Oldsmobile feature at the time. 38,527 miles (mileage
not indicated on title).
