For Sale: 1941 Plymouth PT-125 in Fredericksburg, Virginia

Vehicle Description

1941 Plymouth PT 125 Pickup—Restored and Rare--and now: Reduced

The pre-war pickups represent a great buying opportunity as the market is now focusing on older trucks as desirable collectibles, particularly those with great styling.  This fully restored, double National award winning 1941 Plymouth PT 125 pickup certainly fills the bill.

Restoration History

Of the 6,073 of these pickups that were made, the Plymouth Club estimates only 19 have been restored to stock and probably this is the only one to have received its Senior National First Place award from the AACA.

The restoration of this PT 125 was completed in 2007 and has been driven only 270 miles since, probably mostly to car shows.  This garage-kept pickup was thought by the restorer to have its original engine, which he had rebuilt during the restoration.

This is a great looking truck, painted in original Plymouth 1941 colors, that is fully restored and looks like it would have looked in that Plymouth dealer’s showroom just before WWII halted most domestic vehicle production.

  • Paint and Body

The Orange/black finish on this Plymouth is bright and lively, and reportedly is a factory color used on pickups sold to utility companies.

The pickup bed has been finished in a clear varnish that turns it into a highlight to the truck.

The undercarriage is fully detailed and the only sign of surface rust is on the exhaust pipe.

  • Interior

The brown vinyl interior is looks as-new, as does the matching headliner.  The entire cab has been restored and the gauges have been rebuilt.

  • Engine

The in-line six—believed to be original to the truck—has been rebuilt and sits in an engine bay that has been fully restored and detailed.

  • Transmission

The truck has a sturdy floor-mounted 3-speed manual transmission.

  • Brakes

The large drum brakes stop the truck correctly.

An Outstanding Example of the Pre-war Plymouth pickups

Built to last, this ’41 Plymouth has become a collectible classic that is equally at home at your favorite restaurant as it is at the Home Depot.  And it is unlikely that any other vehicle at either place will draw more attention.
