1967 Shelby GT500 For Sale - California Delivered New, Complete

1967 Shelby GT500 As the muscle era was heating up Chevrolet
released the all new Camaro, which called for an upgrade to the
Mustang to compete. As with before, Carroll Shelby was called upon
to ready to boost Mustang's performance reputation. The slightly
larger 1967 Mustang was the perfect platform to introduce big-block
power so the 428 CI Police Interceptor engine found its own home in
the GT500. Rated at 355 HP, the Police Interceptor had the same
performance camshaft that would later be used in the famed 428
Cobra Jet engine and employed dual-inline Holley 600 CFM 4-barrel
carburetors with progressive linkage and vacuum-actuated
secondaries on an aluminum intake manifold. To some it's the
ultimate muscle car/grand tourer, others love it for being the
first Mustang to be powered by the 428. While many others just love
it for the beautiful, powerful styling and Legendary name
associated with it. As per the Shelby registry, the example offered
for sale was built on 01/30/67 and then shipped new to City Motors
in National City, California. The original owner ordered his new
GT500 in Brittany Blue paint complemented by a Black decor interior
which remains one of the most sought-after color combinations. It
was equipped from the factory with a C6 automatic transmission,
power steering and front disc brakes, the interior decor group,
fold-down rear seat, shoulder harness, extra cooling package,
closed crankcase emission system, exhaust emission control,
courtesy light group, tachometer and trip odometer. This Shelby
received a complete rotisserie restoration and painted its factory
correct Brittany Blue paint with White striping. Underneath is
finished as it left the factory with red oxide primer floor pans
with body color overspray, correct paint daubs and inspection
markings. Under the hood, lies the 428ci Police Interceptor engine
which has been rebuilt to stock specifications and is in excellent
working order. Finishing the look of the engine is a litany of
correct markings and stickers. This Shelby GT-500 is of course
listed in the Shelby Registry, copies of original Shelby invoices
and documentation from Marti Auto Works. Beautiful, detailed
restoration, fully documented and well equipped are all the
elements making this an extremely desirable collector car, add to
this the history of being an original Shelby GT-500 and you have
one of the most desirable and sought-after muscle cars of all time.
