Vehicle Description
Sometimes you just don't want to have to bother being subtle with
your intimidation, and that's why this custom 1993 Ford F-150 4x4
exists. With its bold paint, flareside body, lifted suspension, and
rumbling V8, people are going to tell stories about the first time
you show up anywhere.
The Flareside trucks from Ford always live up to their name. After
all, this one has plenty of sporty style with a single cab and
short bed base. Plus, there's certainly plenty of flare with a
newer application of red paint. And the contoured stepside bed that
was the namesake of the Flareside truck just seemed to look the
best on a 9th-gen F-150. After all, the front end was the right mix
of robust lines and gentile curves, and the same goes for the truck
bed. But even without all of these nice details, there would still
be an instant attraction to this one simply because that huge
suspension lift makes this 4x4 true intimidation on wheels. And
speaking of the wheels, we like how the 20-inch MotoMetal units
fill the enhanced wheel well space, and the black goes well with
the tinted windows and tail lights. So it makes for an overall
impression of a custom truck that was extra thoughtful in its
creation. But don't mistake consideration for a loss of ability.
Nothing here ever wants to be too fancy to get to work. Instead,
you have useful upgrades like the light bar in front, a trailer
hitch on the rear, and liner paint in the bed so you can use your
aggressive pickup for Home Depot duty.
You can step up inside to quite an accommodating interior. There
are plenty of luxuries such as cold-blowing air conditioning, power
windows, power locks, cruise control, cup holders, and an updated
AM/FM/CD stereo with Bluetooth. The seat is quite comfy with a
fold-down armrest for bucket-like individual space. And the factory
steering wheel is mounted on a tilt column to give you a clear view
of the readouts and the road ahead.
Under the hood is Ford's hardy 5.0-liter V8. This is a
fuel-injected motor and it has been treated to good maintenance, so
it fires right up. The motor has plenty of torque, so it goes great
with the lifted suspension, Nitto Mud Grappler tires, and an
investment in a new two-speed 4x4 transfer case to make sure that
you can keep going even when the trail ends. But we also know
you're going to love using this big machine on the streets. In
fact, despite being quite a high-lift truck, there have been solid
investments to keep it a better cruiser. This includes a full
alignment and a new four-speed automatic transmission within the
last couple of years. And just look at how clean the undercarriage
is! There's also power steering, power brakes, and front discs.
That way this one can be a camping buddy as easily as it can be an
intimidating Saturday night machine.
The most impressive part of this F-150 is that the total package is
available at such an affordable price. So you know you have to
hurry if you want this big class Flareside 4x4 in your driveway.
