This 1985 Ford Mustang LX Convertible is a life-long Tennessee car
with a long-term first owner. So while you have the desirable
fuel-injected 5.0-liter V8 and an interior loaded with features -
including cold-blowing A/C - this may just be most impressive for
being such a well-respected blue-on-blue classic drop-top.
Light Regatta Blue is a great color to have when presenting a
Mustang of distinction. It was only available for a few years and
wasn't as popular as colors like red. So you're going to have
people come in for a closer look. And this one has the kind of cool
style of a well-respected survivor. That means a touch of fading
and signs of use, but an overall very stock and clean style. So
everything from the straight sheet metal to the delicate blue
pinstripe help tell the story of decades under the same care. While
this is a long-term first owner, it's believed to have only one
other owner, and we are grateful for the second owner. This is
where fresh investments were made like a nicely sourced set of
stock-style 15-inch alloys and new tires. And the new black
convertible roof has a lean look that goes well with the black
headlight buckets and a band of trim that encircles the full
car.
We like the look of the black roof, but the real distinct style
shows when you take it down. The blue interior against the blue
paint gives this very American Mustang a touch of European flair.
It's highly stock inside with even some pieces re-dyed to retain a
good-looking blue. Just like the exterior, it's not perfect, but
it's well respected while also showing its history. You'll also
like how this premium LX model is loaded with the best factory
features. This includes power windows, power locks, cruise control,
an armrest center console, and the stock AM/FM/cassette stereo.
There are also well-integrated upgrades. The factory air
conditioning is blowing cold with modern R134a refrigerant. And the
second owner replaced the hydraulic lines and cylinder to keep the
power top operating smoothly.
The LX is the more luxury cruiser kind of pony car, and so it's
nice to see it has the right motor. Not everyone got the 5.0-liter
V8 in 1985, nor did they get the desirable electronic fuel
injection. It means you have a powerful heart made to be smooth and
consistent. That's especially true there thanks to recent
investments in a tune-up and the exhaust. So this classic drop-top
is a fun driver. And features like power steering, power brakes,
front discs, and a four-speed automatic transmission with overdrive
make it a terrific all-weekend cruiser.
The sale comes complete with the owner's manual and maintenance
records. This is a distinct blue-on-blue V8 Mustang that loves to
hit the road and show off its history. Call today!!!
