Truly Incredible 1947 Nash Ambassador 60 Coupe
The next amazing classic up for grabs in our Fairfield showroom is
this gorgeous, highly customized 1947 Nash Ambassador 60 2 Door
Coupe with Summit White exterior paint with metal flake added,
stunning multi-color blue flames, and a brown cloth interior with
Dolphin gauges. The engine has been bored to 488 cubic inches and
has an Eagle 4.25-inch stroke crank, Keith Black pistons, Childs &
Albert rods, roller cam with .580 lift and .342 duration, 3/8-inch
push rods, LS6 454 open chamber rectangular port cylinder heads,
Manley valves (225 intake, 188 exhaust), double valve springs with
dampeners, titanium retainers, Mildon gear drive, plus an O-Ringed
block and heads. The Weiand 671 supercharger has Teflon rotors, and
is topped by a pair of Holley 750 double pumper carbs, an MSD
ignition lights the candles, and 2-1/4 inch Speedway fenderwell
headers route the spent gasses through a DynoMax exhaust system.
Mated to the muscular motor is a Hughes built Turbo 400 automatic
with an SFI bell housing shield and flex plate, plus a Continental
4,000 stall converter. By the time it was done, the engine was
putting out 1,007 horsepower on the dyno, running on pure racing
fuel. It has been de-tuned to be driven on the street, and it has
remained that way ever since. However it still makes approximately
700hp, and you can't help but put the gas pedal to the floor for
some grins. Power hits the ground through a Ford Mosher 9" rear end
on a Competition Engineering 4-link chassis. This pro street
example is also loaded with Koni front Coilovers with a Mustang II
suspension, a full roll cage, a custom interior and so much
more.
Extensively Upgraded for Pro Street Performance
The current owner of this 1947 Nash Ambassador 60 Coupe acquired it
from the original builder in 2020, and he informs us that this
outstanding example started its life in Florida. As you can see
from the photographs, this classic has been extensively updated
during a nut and bolt restoration that saw every inch of this
desirable classic updated for blistering performance and
reliability, including the drivetrain, suspension, frame, and all
accessories. While there is some insignificant wear present since
the restoration, this outstanding classic still shows in like-new
condition throughout and really turns heads wherever it goes.
Additionally, this 1947 Nash Ambassador 60 2 Door Coupe delivers
incredible performance on the open road with fantastic acceleration
and stopping power. The high-end custom interior also makes this an
excellent driver that can be enjoyed on weekends or simply for
trips to regional car shows. This classic absolutely has "best in
class" potential as well since the build ran well into the
six-figure range. It must be seen in person to fully appreciate
since this is easily one of the most outstanding Nash examples in
the country.
One of the Coolest Examples Nationwide
Overall, this 1947 Nash Ambassador 60 2 Door Coupe is a
show-stopping, Pro Street classic that's been built correctly for
enjoyment around town, at your local drag strip, or on center
stage. Examples of this caliber rarely become available on the open
market, so we do not foresee this classic remaining available for
long. For more information about this vehicle, visit our Fairfield,
