Seven Hills Motorcars is very proud to offer this beautiful 1992 Mercedes Benz 300SL in fantastic condition with only 53,785 original miles and with both the soft-top and factory hardtop. It looks spectacular, runs great, and is an excellent driver. The Mercedes is finished in the beautiful and highly desirable color combination of Signal Red (568) over Palomino Leather (274) interior with a Black (740) soft top. This is also the correct and original color scheme, verified by the codes in the vehicle data card that is still with the car and pictured below. The other original manuals, books, 2 keys fob remotes, the standard key, Mercedes tools in the tool roll, Mercedes first-aid kit, jack, and spare (with matching chrome rim) are also still with the car. The low original mileage is also verified not only by the condition of the car, but also by the clear Ohio title, pictured in this ad, showing the mileage as "Actual."

We have recently put about 30 miles on this 300SL. During that time the car was completely reliable, had no issues at all, and was a true pleasure to drive.

There is a copy of the AutoCheck report in this ad. The report is totally clean, shows no accident history, and verifies the low mileage. Many in the classic car industry are saying that this body style Mercedes SL, the R129, is the next classic generation of Mercedes that is starting going up in value. One could easily buy this car now and sell it for more than the purchase price in years to come. Please peruse all of the photos, video, list of options, and other information in this ad to get a true sense of how clean and nice this 300SL really is.

As a side note, this Mercedes is not a dealer auction vehicle. We hand pick each car after careful inspection. Our classics come from owners who expect their cars to go to someone that will give the vehicle the same care and attention as they did. We invite and encourage you to examine the car in person or have the car inspected. Please take the time to scrutinize each picture. We photograph each vehicle to the greatest extent so you can feel confident about your purchase. If you have a question about the 300SL, just give us a call.

Exterior

The Signal Red (568) exterior is in excellent condition. As one can see in the photos, the paint has a brilliant gloss, deep shine, and smooth finish. Both doors open and shut nicely; it has that solid Mercedes touch and feels like a vault door closing. The alloy wheels are in great shape with a brilliant finish and no curb rash. The Michelin tires have plenty of tread left and are correctly sized 225/55R16. There are no major imperfections that have been intentionally excluded from the photos. As one would expect from a paintjob with many years on it there are some very small blemishes around that are too tiny so show up in the photos, but nothing that is really noticeable from about five feet away. This Mercedes has no rust issues. As one can see in the many photos of the underside, this 300SL is very clean underneath. We have also included specific photos of the rockers, lower front and rear quarter panels, and other areas on the car most prone to rust to show how nice it looks.

Interior

The Palomino Leather (274) interior of the 300SL looks absolutely fantastic. All of the gauge faces are crisp and clean and the lenses are clear. The dash is in excellent condition with no cracks, fading, or sun fading. The original door panels look wonderful with no cracks or splits, and both door pulls are solid. The seats look just as nice in person as they do in the photos. There is a spot of wear in the typical spot on the bolster where the driver gets in and out. The carpet looks great with no stains, rips, or holes. The Black (740) convertible soft-top is in great condition with no holes or frayed edges. The rear windows are clear with no yellowing. The car still retains its original radio. Most importantly the dash has never been cut or modified for an aftermarket installation. This car has never been smoked in; there is no aroma of cigarettes what so ever and no burn marks. The trunk is very clean and nicely detailed with the original Mercedes tool roll, wind deflector, jack, spare tire, and matching chrome rim.

The excellent condition of this all original interior is a huge testament to the meticulous care and attention this Mercedes has received throughout its life and another great verification of the low original mileage.

Mechanical

This 300SL appears to be in very nice mechanical condition and it is ready to be enjoyed. As stated above we have recently put about 30 miles on this car with absolutely no problems. The engine starts right away every time and idles well. It is an exceptional driver that feels great on the road and at highway speeds. In the video one can observe the car accelerating on the highway up to about 70mph, shifting through all the gears, braking to a stoplight, and going through some curves. Please note that it runs great, there are no strange noises or vibrations, and the car performs quite nice overall. The brakes are responsive and do not pull to one side or the other. There is no blue smoke when starting or driving the car. It runs cool and does not overheat. The gauge shows that the engine makes great oil pressure. Also, the engine bay is clean, nicely detailed, and correct as one can see from the photos.

Please note in the video the dash warning lights; they light up when the key is first turned on and then go off when the engine is started just as they should. There are no "check engine" lights that stay on. The horn works as do the fog lights, headlights, brights, turn signals, interior lights, indicators, dash gauges lights, wipers, rear window defroster, both key fob remotes, power mirrors in all directions, power locks, and power antenna. The a/c works and blows cold. The power convertible top works properly and the entire operation of raising and lowering the automatic power top can be viewed in the video in this ad. All of the gauges work and the clock keeps time. The car will drip a little blue fluid if it sits for a long period of time. This inline six is one of the best engines Mercedes has ever produced. Not enough can be said as to how much of a pleasure it is to drive this car, especially with the top down on a beautiful day.

Overall Condition

Overall, this 1992 300SL is in excellent condition and is a true bargain at our asking price. This car is a premium example; it is very clean with low miles and a clear AutoCheck history with no accidents. This Mercedes is a great value and will only appreciate over time. Someone could easily enjoy this vehicle for several years and sell it for more than the purchase price with minimal effort.
