Vehicle Description
This 1971 Ford Maverick offers a sporty silhouette in a lighter
package than its Torino siblings, and so it's an ideal place to
start for a big power build. That's why you have a bolder style,
four-wheel disc brakes, an upgraded suspension, and a seriously
powerful stroker V8. And because this has some serious attitude,
the powerful performance is a given... However, thoughtful details
like the cold-blowing air conditioning are certainly a pleasant
surprise.
This Maverick brings a terrific classic Ford style to the road. The
Grabber Blue paint was one of the best ways to declare you had a
serious blue oval power car in the 1970s. And this application
radiates a terrific shine to make sure you really get some
attention. Plus, you instantly recognize the blackout hood and
black stripes as inspired by the Boss Mustangs.
But holding true to the Maverick name, this custom is also its own
unique rebel. So the black stripes kick off a full dark side with
the bumpers, grille, front spoiler, trim, and rear panel all done
in black. And we just know you see the big power dome of the cowl
hood. And just in case you didn't already recognize this as a more
modern beast, there are also nice updates like the headlights and
Coys 18-inch alloys that fill the wheel wells with a sporty
stance.
The black accents of the exterior get you ready for that all-black
interior. And from the first moment you open the door, you can tell
this darkness is all about getting down to speedy business. This
includes upgrades like Procar racing bucket seats, a flat-bottom
Billet Specialties steering wheel, and a Hurst ratchet shifter. And
we love the large AutoMeter tach mounted on the A-pillar for a
classic head-up display. The focus here is clearly on driving, and
so no one will accuse this Maverick of being a coddler. Still,
there is a thoughtful feeling that comes from such a clean level of
fit and finish. They even put a mat over the dash just to have it
look good without taking away from originality. Plus, this has
cold-blowing air conditioning!
The engine bay is extra clean and tidy because they know you are
going to put this powerhouse on full display. According to the
consignor this is a fully built motor that starts with a 351
cubic-inch Windsor V8 and enlarges it to a 408ci stroker. So you
get a big block displacement in a small block weight. It was
enhanced and fortified with an Eagle rotating assembly, SRP forged
pistons, 10:1 compression, a solid lift camshaft, solid roller
lifters, stainless valves, Fel Pro gaskets, Trick Flow aluminum
heads, and brass core plugs. It inhales deeply with a Holley
four-barrel carburetor and an Edelbrock Victor Jr intake. And it
exhales with power and rumble thanks to Hooker headers feeding the
dual exhaust and Flowmaster mufflers. There are also terrific
supporting components like a double roller timing shine, March
pulleys, an MSD distributor, and an aluminum radiator with electric
fan. The three-speed automatic unit was built to be stout with a
heavy-duty planetary hub, a B&M shift kit, and a 3500 stall. It
feeds into a Detroit Locker 4.11 rear end for powerful and
confident take-offs. And to make sure you are in proper control of
this full power package are nice upgrades like a tubular A-arm
front end with QA1 coilovers, subframe connectors, new grippy
ZR-rated tires, and four-wheel disc brakes.
The Maverick was born with a sporty fastback kind of style, and
this one takes that spirit to the extreme with a bold style and a
hardcore street machine feeling. So if you're looking for a
head-turner with a comprehensive power package, call today!!!
