Vehicle Description
From 1971 through 1980 Ford built the Pinto in three variants, the
two-door fastback sedan with trunk, a three door hatchback and a
two door station wagon. Over three million Pintos were produced in
the decade out producing the combined totals of all its domestic
rivals in the compact car market. All those sales, even with one of
the largest safety issues ever known to exist loom over Ford on
many different fronts. The Pinto and all other US compacts at the
time were pretty much in direct response to the enormous
importation of European and Japanese compact 4-cylinder cars that
were largely more fuel effective. This perfect color combination
Pinto that we are pleased to present has been a Michigan car its
whole life and there are some areas on the body that show it.
However, there are many good parts of this vehicle as well. The
underside is pretty decent as well. The mileage I believe to be
correct, as I have yet to see one of these cars actually do 142,000
miles. The interior is all original and pretty good also with the
only real wear is the driver seat. The consignor bought this car
for his wife as she had one growing up, but just like anything else
it has not really been used so its time to move on down the road.
This Pinto actually runs, starts and drives down the road better
than I expected it to. Comes with owners manual and some dealer
paperwork along with a couple service records. Take a ride on the
wild side and come buy this 1970's icon.
