Vehicle Description
This custom 1963 Corvette Split-Window Coupe was professionally
restored and completed in November 2022 by Todd Compton Classic
Corvettes. Born as a true Split-Window Coupe, it still retains its
original rust-free birdcage and original VIN and Trim Tags. Its
foundation is a Street Shop C7-based chassis using all-new GM
components with mandrel-bent frame rails. The chassis is equipped
with C7 suspension, Z06 calipers and rotors, Flaming River power
rack & pinion steering, QA1 coilovers and a "hammerhead IRS" rear
end. Power comes from a new GM supercharged LT4 crate engine making
650hp and 650 ft/lbs of torque backed by a new GM 8L90 8-speed
automatic transmission, wired with a GM Connect & Cruise harness.
The engine is dressed in billet valve covers and breathes through
hand-built stainless-steel headers feeding a dual side-pipe exhaust
system. The exterior is finished in timeless black paint with
original stainless-steel moldings and trim polished to a mirror
finish. The custom interior wears Satin Red Italian leather with
French seams, Clayton Machine Works accessories throughout, a
Vintage Air system, power windows, a Billet Specialties steering
wheel on a tilt column and modern Dakota Digital gauges. Other
features include a power-actuated hood, Detroit Speed wiper and
headlight controls, and windows completed with tinted glass. This
custom Split-Window rides on staggered ZR1-style wheels (20x12
rears, 18x9 fronts) wrapped in Nitto red line tires, meaty 315s out
back and 275s up front. It also has an electronic e-brake system,
stainless-steel fuel tank, and stainless brake and fuel lines.
