Finished in the High-Impact FY1 color Lemon Twist Bright Yellow,
this 1970 Plymouth HEMI Superbird is one of 77 built with an
automatic transmission and powered by a non-original 426ci HEMI
engine, which has been re-stamped with the correct VIN. The
original Fender Tag was decoded by Galen Govier and the car was
restored to its original factory colors and specifications.
Throughout the restoration, NOS parts were used wherever possible,
with correct reproductions used when that option did not exist.
Much attention to detail was given to the undercarriage with
correct markings, paint dabs and correctly applied overspray to
duplicate the car's appearance when it rolled off the assembly
line. The trunk has also been given this level of attention and the
correct pair of jacks (one for the rear bumper and a Superbird jack
for the front) remain in place, as does a correct spare tire on the
proper rim. After the car was restored, a noted Mopar authority and
restoration expert was hired to thoroughly inspect it to ensure it
was as correct as possible and to update any items that needed
attention. This car has been stored in a controlled atmosphere and
mechanically maintained.
