Vehicle Description
This custom 1970 Plymouth Barracuda hardtop is powered by a Mopar
Performance 426ci HEMI engine with dual Edelbrock Thunder Series
carburetors mated to a TKO 600 5-speed transmission with a fully
hydraulic clutch. The engine is equipped with TTI headers and a
motor plate, a Brad Davis radiator and fans, custom-fabricated
March Performance serpentine pulleys, mired and smoothed aluminum
HEMI valve covers, a 1968 Camaro fuel tank and a polished
ceramic-coated exhaust from front to back (coated by Impact
Coatings). This Barracuda also features a Taylor Ignition system
and the engine block is sanded and polished. Finished in three-tone
PPG base clear paint, nearly four gallons of silver base coat and
two gallons of green base coat. The bottom side of the car was
sprayed and cleared, and the exterior has had everything shaved: It
has no marker lights or door handles and the trunk lock was
relocated behind the license plate. The car features original sheet
metal, except for the hood. The bumperettes were removed and the
bumpers narrowed and tucked, shrunk and frenched-in. The rear
valance was built from scratch, as were the top and bottom billet
grilles with fog lights. All of the fender mounting lips and
structures have been trimmed for a cleaner appearance. The radiator
support was boxed and the grille finish panel was fabricated. The
rear taillight bezels were removed and fabricated out of sheet
metal, and all panels are fully gapped for a consistent fit. The
body was completely panel-blocked, fully wet-sanded and the body
panels were polished. This hardtop has a side-exit 3-inch exhaust
with laser-cut chrome tips and rides on a Magnum Force front
suspension unit with Wilwood disc brakes in the front and rear. All
the chassis holes were filled, with a bolt in the chassis K-member
fabricated from 1.75-inch DOM tube that ties the front and rear
frame rails together. It is equipped with a Baer Performance Ford
9-inch rear end with 4.11 gears and Auburn posi-traction on a 4-bar
custom rear suspension with Watts link. The interior is
custom-fabricated with billet interior trim pieces from door panel
to panel, a custom console, refaced gauges and needles, custom
fiberglass molded rear seat delete panels, and fabricated and
leather-wrapped trunk panels. The interior also features CNC-milled
custom floor pedals, all-new custom gray tinted glass, a two-tone
leather interior with suede inserts and a headliner with 2008
Corvette Z06 power bucket seats. **TITLE IN TRANSIT**
