Vehicle Description
This 1970 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am is one of 88 Ram Air IVs
produced that year and one of just 29 with an automatic
transmission. Powered by its matching-numbers 400/370hp engine
mated to an automatic transmission with 12-bolt 3.73 posi-traction,
this Trans Am had a comprehensive body-off restoration and is
refinished in the correct Polar White exterior color with bright
blue accents. It is equipped with power disc brakes and rides on
original JW-coded Rally wheels with Firestone F60-15-inch wide-oval
tires and a matching spare with a jack. The interior features the
correct bright blue vinyl, power steering, AM/FM radio, 8,000 rpm
tachometer and bucket seats with a center console. The original
Trim Tag verifies this Trans Am was built at the Norwood, OH,
assembly plant. PHS documentation and owner history are included.
It was sold new at Johnson Pontiac, Inc. in Clinton, IA and
featured on the cover and inset of High Performance Pontiac
magazine. The car is highly detailed throughout, including the
engine bay and undercarriage. Comes with restoration receipts.
