Vehicle Description
This custom 1957 Chevrolet Nomad wagon underwent a professional
5-year no-expense-spared restoration and custom build. The body was
taken down to bare metal and professionally worked until
laser-straight, then placed on a custom powder-coated frame fitted
with C4 Corvette suspension with Bilstein shocks, power rack &
pinion steering and C4 independent rear suspension (IRS). Stopping
is handled with power-assisted 4-wheel disc brakes. The power plant
is a Ram Jet 502ci crate engine breathing through custom intake
tubes sucking fresh air through the inner fender aprons. Spent
gases exit through a set of coated Sanderson headers feeding an
H-pipe dual-exhaust system. Power is transferred through a 4L80E
4-speed automatic transmission to the 3.45-geared Dana 44 rear end.
An aluminum radiator keeps the engine cool, while the air
conditioning system keeps the cabin cool. The exterior is finished
in Copper Gold paint with polished brightwork. The interior is
trimmed in two-tone black and white upholstery with a color-matched
dashboard, tilt steering column, modern Classic Instruments gauges
and power windows. This Nomad rides on Foose polished aluminum
5-spoke wheels, 20-inch out back and 18-inch up front, all wrapped
in Sumitomo radial tires. The sale includes a color-matched cooler
and a build book with photos and receipts.
