Vehicle Description
This 1955 Chevrolet 210 custom 2-door post is nicknamed "Scortch"
due to its color scheme. It is finished in Butterscotch Pearl paint
from the R-M Color Collection by Chip Foose with black two-tone.
This 2023 R-M paint line calendar car is an 8-year professionally
built, frame-off, full nut-and-bolt, rotisserie restoration with
less than 15 miles since completion. This show car has a
laser-straight body and features smoked tinted glass with vent
window delete, all-new chrome, polished stainless steel and
emblems, a smoothie front bumper and 18-inch Torq Thrust II wheels
that are painted to match the body color. The detailed engine bay
with a smoothed firewall and a hand-fabricated radiator support
houses an electronic fuel-injected Ram Jet 350 GM crate engine
cooled by a custom aluminum radiator with dual electric fans and a
March serpentine drive system. The engine is paired with a 700 R4
4-speed automatic transmission with a B&M shift kit, a polished
aluminum driveshaft and a Ford 9-inch posi-traction rear end. The
underside is painted and polished in gloss body color and features
ceramic-coated headers and an X-pipe dual-exhaust system exiting
through stainless-steel tips. The original frame is upgraded with
front tubular A-arms, a heavy-duty sway bar, 2-inch drop spindles,
power rack & pinion steering, a rear shock relocation kit, a rear
spring pocket kit and 2-inch lowering rear springs. Stopping is
handled by 4-wheel power disc brakes with drilled and slotted
rotors. The custom bench-seat leather interior has a
body-color-matched dashboard painted in Butterscotch Pearl and
features Classic Instruments gauges and clock, as well as a 15-inch
original-style steering wheel. Other features include a tilt
steering column, Vintage Air system, electric wipers, custom
Autosound stereo and Lokar shifter. A complete American Autowire
kit and sound insulation have also been installed. This
multiple-award-winning Chevrolet was signed by Dave Kindig at the
2021 World of Wheels in Omaha, where it won Top 10, Best Custom and
the Mid-America Gold Cup.
