Vehicle Description
This Hogan Built custom 1972 K5 Blazer was designed and built to be
unlike any other of its kind. The body has undergone a rotisserie
restoration, including sandblasting, metalwork and bodywork. Every
nut and bolt was replaced during the process. After the body
treatment, it was slathered in PPG Acid Green over Dover White
two-tone paint. Under the Blazer, you'll find a color matched bed
liner protecting all of the floors from any future chips or
corrosion. This Blazer features high-option truck-style side trim.
A set of 17-inch Black Rhino wheels are wrapped in 33-inch BFG
tires. Even the chassis has been reworked and the extra holes
welded smooth before powder-coating in Satin Black. Deaver leaf
springs with Fox 2.0 shocks give the Blazer a 4-inch lift for an
incredible stance while maintaining usability and ride quality.
Both axles have been rebuilt, resealed and refinished in Graphite
Gray. Stopping power is provided by a Wilwood master cylinder and
4-wheel disc brakes. Powering this K5 is a freshly rebuilt 350ci
engine paired with a 700R4 Hughes transmission, backed with a new
NP205 transfer case. The engine has been refinished in the classic
Hugger Orange and topped off with Chevrolet-script valve covers.
Keeping the classic look but modern performance, a CVF serpentine
belt front drive was installed utilizing the factory fan and
shroud. Fueling the fun is a Holley fuel delivery system and a Boyd
aluminum fuel cell, held in place with a custom-fabricated cradle.
The custom-made exhaust starts with a set of Hedman headers and was
polished and ceramic-coated all the way back. One-off stainless
radiator hoses are finished in matte black for an original-style
look. Acid Green color-matched bed liner coats the entire interior
floor, which is smoothed and bead-rolled to hold the SeaDek
wakeboard-style floor matting. The teak on the floor ties in
perfectly with the front and rear bench seats. The bed has been
outfitted with an E-track system that currently holds a matching
BMX bike, a matching surfboard and a rear bench seat, in any
configuration you could imagine. Between the roll bar, the double
bench seat and the floor, this Blazer nicknamed "Olive" is one of a
kind and built for fun. Audio is powered by a Retrosound head unit
with Bluetooth, two Rockford Fosgate 6.5-inch speakers and two
8-inch M2 marine subwoofers. The body, chassis and engine are all
tied together with an American Autowire harness, which was
professionally installed to fit perfectly. "Olive" was built to
enjoy while still completing an intense nut-and-bolt restoration.
Definitely one of the most unique builds to roll out of Hogan
Built.
