This documented 1972 Oldsmobile 442 W-30 convertible has been
completely restored. It is powered by a 445ci engine paired with a
3-speed automatic transmission with a Hurst Dual Gate "His and
Hers" shifter. This convertible is highly optioned and finished in
its original color of Flame Orange Metallic with great effort to
match this seldom-seen original color. The black 442 striping is a
masked and painted application, as per the original. A long-term
accumulation of NOS trim parts was used to achieve this result.
History states George Lyons and crew in Erie, PA, began with a
rust-free, very complete, unmodified car and completed this
body-off restoration to be 1972 assembly-correct and matched
exactly to the car's original Build Sheet. This 442 is one of the
only 113 W-30 convertibles built in the final year of production
and has an authentic X-code serial number. The restoration was
performed with the undercarriage and all componentry restored to
same level of high detail and correctness.
