Vehicle Description
The 1966 Chevrolet Chevelle SS came with an all-new design in the
formidable A-body. The new design now packed a punch with the
first-year big-blocks available in the SS trim short of the Z16s in
1965. This true 138 VIN Chevelle SS is presented exactly as it was
on the factory floor in Kansas City, MO. The base SS came with a
325hp L35 engine, but this has the much more powerful matching
numbers L34 code 396ci V8 engine rated at 360hp. The Chevelle gets
that power to the ground through its matching-numbers Muncie
4-speed transmission and 3.70 posi-traction 12-bolt rear end. Strap
yourself into those original bucket seats, complete with the
original console and working clock. The few modifications to this
Chevelle are the addition of a dual master cylinder, new wheels,
radial tires and a performance exhaust system. The first two
changes were made simply for safety but can be easily changed back
for the purist who decides against driving this car.
