Vehicle Description
This 1971 Plymouth 'Cuda is powered by its original 440ci engine
with 6-barrel carburetion, and its original 4-speed transmission.
It is equipped with a Dana 60 rear end with 4.10:1 gears. Finished
in Plum Crazy Purple over a black interior with bucket seats and a
console-mounted pistol-grip shifter. The year 1971 was the last for
the big-block high-compression engines in Chrysler-Plymouths. Sales
were on a downward slide due to both insurance rates and gas prices
on their way up. Safety concerns and emissions regulations were
bringing the muscle-car era to an end, but what a final year for
440ci Six-Pack and Hi-Impact colors like In Violet, which were
popular on the sporty pony cars. The unique "cheese grater"
four-headlight grille and fender gills made for a one-year-only
appearance on the 'Cuda. This car is equipped the mandatory power
front disc brakes. This 440-6 'Cuda has been part of a collection
since 2012.
