$140,000 custom build! We just acquired this car from the couple
that had it built. It was done 13 years ago, and they enjoyed
putting 22,000 miles on it. Although it looks like it was built
last year and has 2,000 miles! My point is you can drive this car
anywhere, it is comfortable and reliable. It has a very tasteful,
timeless build. I think it will appeal to just about anybody. It
comes with a photo album documenting the build it also has a pile
of paperwork with all the specs. They started with a clean and
complete car.
EXTERIOR: Genuine 1937 trunk back sedan. All steel body and
fenders; not chopped. All metal roof, cowl vent is filled in, 3rd
brake light is molded in. A custom fuel door was made. Every square
inch is laser straight. No rust, damage, or problem areas. Under
each fender was sprayed with Rhino Liner to prevent rock chips. The
bright red is polished like glass. Original style handles. Glass
Ford script headlight covers, LED taillights. Original style
bumpers were tucked closer to the body. All new smoked glass,
v-butt windshield. Ribbed rubber running boards you can step on. It
has a great stance with some sharp polished Billet Specialties
wheels. 15 inch tires, fatter in back were replaced 2019.
INTERIOR: It was completely gutted. Floor to ceiling was lined with
sound deadener. Professionally made custom interior with excellent
fit and finishes. Matching door panels, headliner, and upholstery
in soft ultra leather. Beautiful dash area with sharp looking
gauges, LED indicators. The dash was extended to hide heat and a/c
unit. Carpet and mats have bound edges. Banjo spoke wheel with
cushion grip on a tilt column. Custom stereo system. Vintage Air
controls and vents. 3 point retractable belts in front.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: GM crate Ram Jet 350 motor makes 351 hp and 403
lbs of torque. Chevy took their proven 350 motor and topped it with
electronic fuel injection that has the old school look. Polished
air conditioning compressor and alternator. Walker radiator package
with electric fan and stainless hose. Smooth firewall painted like
red glass.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Completely boxed and upholstered. Carpeted
floor. Battery is relocated to the trunk.
UNDERSIDE: The body was off the frame and a complete custom chassis
was installed. The fabricated boxed frame has tubular supports and
was powder coated. Upfront is a Mustang ll independent suspension
with tubular control arms, coil over shocks, swaybar, rack & pinion
steering. In back it has Chassis Engineering leaf springs. Bushings
and shocks were replaced. Custom stainless dual exhaust with
polished Magnaflow mufflers. Custom brake system with drilled and
slotted disc in front. It has an e-brake system and power brake
booster. Composite 17 gallon fuel cell. Bottom of the motor is
clean, has a chrome oil filter and flywheel cover. A high torque
starter. 700R-4 overdrive automatic with a remote oil cooler.
Custom made drive shaft. Rebuilt Ford 9 inch rear with 3.73 posi
gears and 31 spline axles. The floors are all clean metal painted
semi gloss black. Every last nut and bolt was replaced under this
car.
$140,000 13 years ago would probably cost $200,000 at a shop today.
Most importantly is the final product which is amazing. It will win
shows and impress onlookers. It will also take you anywhere you
want to go in style and comfort.
I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for
virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant
amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my
professional impression of the vehicle. Our salesmen are happy to
assist with descriptions and making sure your questions are
answered. One great suggestion is letting us do a walk around video
that explains the car's condition in detail. **These cars are
displayed in a museum. If interested in a particular car, make an
appointment with a salesman to see that car. Without an appointment
there is an admission fee to enter the showroom. If you buy a car,
your admission will be refunded, and you will be given a 1 year
membership.
