Vehicle Description
2000 Pontiac Trans AM WS6 Convertible
A muscle car, by definition, is a powerful and sporty vehicle that
must be able to spin its tires at will. The Firebird Trans Am is
capable of laying down twin black streaks of rubber several hundred
feet long. The WS6 package definitely helps with this task with
320hp.
For consignment, originally from our friends up north in the St.
Therese, Canada assembly plant, a sculpted, aerodynamic convertible
muscle car. The odometer is showing 14,149 miles, but the Carfax is
stating the car has approximately 70K miles on it but it comes
nowhere near looking like it!
Please Note: The odometer miles do not match the Carfax shown
miles. This may be a case of odometer rollback or a replacement
instrument cluster and ECU being installed.*
Exterior
All dressed up in screaming Arctic White, from the 2 bumps at the
front of the fenders that magically turn into headlights, to the
Ram Air intake cowling hood looking like nostrils, flanked by 2
front fender bumps, and more intake openings on the quarter panels,
to the rear trunk lid that seems to go on for ever as it becomes an
integrated spoiler. Black racing stripes adorn the hood and rear
deck and spoiler. Gaps are well minded and paint is in excellent
condition, nice and shiny. On back, a seamless inset aero style
tail light setup with honeycombed black trimmings throughout and a
central winged badge in its center. We see dual exhaust ports
peeking out from beneath the neoprene bumper molded in outlet bump
ins. 17-inch C7 Z06 replica wheels in black wheels are in front and
are wrapped by 275/40ZR17 and 18-inch matching wheels with
285/35ZR18 tires are in the back from the 19th week of 2021 and
grip like a sticky rubber eraser on paper. Only these MAKE black
marks!
Interior
Ebony leather covers the two front power buckets, the rear 2+2
bench, and steering wheel, as well as gearshift. The leather is
soft and supple, showing no folds or errors save for on the
driver's outer bolster. These power seats have 6 way on the drivers
side and is manually actuated on the passenger. Their design has
tuck and rolled curved inserts for the bolsters and gives these
chairs a futuristic look which nails you to their sides. A swooping
center console is flanked by the buckets, and makes its way to the
dash while including a glove box/armrest, cup holder, gearshift,
climate controls, and AM/FM/CD changer. The normal cluster
instruments are clean and bright and the undulating dash has all
the conveniences in push button form, easy to use and navigate. An
overall feel for the rounded over design of the console and door
panels leaves me with a smile. (That's a good thing, as opposed to
the country song which is otherwise, but I digress!). Nice matching
black carpet floods the floor and has snappy embroidered in white
stitching Trans Am Phoenix winged designs in the covering floor
mats.
Drivetrain
Under the hood, in a showroom environment with this engine bay, we
see a 5.7 liter LS1 V8 found within the engine bay, and it is
electronically fuel injected. Remember this WS6 has a Ram Air
system. The 4L60E 4-speed automatic transmission is bolted to the
back, and these in combination make use of the 10 bolt 3.23 rear
axle ratio and posi-traction and this in turn allows the tires to
spin and make the black marks on the pavement!
Undercarriage
The undercarriage is showing some surface rust at the welded seams
on the floor pans and other structural areas, however, all remains
unremarkable as to integrity. It has been rattle can sprayed black
in these areas to prevent further rusting. Power front and rear
disc brakes are on all the corners, and this car comes equipped
with electronic traction control, and specific tuned suspension, as
per the enclosed sticker.
Drive-Ability
This car started right up, and even smells new! Smooth shifting,
nice power and great ride as well as interior comfort. One gets the
feeling of driving a piece of sculpture with all the inlets and
curved cowlings etc. Overall a great driver like new. Carfax
indicates there may be a rollback on the mileage as it says 70K
plus miles, but aforementioned does NOT look it!
A well cared for example of the Trans AM modern style WS6 package.
Aerodynamically designed and performance enhanced to be reliably
driven, hassle free. Press the button, put the top down and make
some marks on the pavement! Lather, rinse, repeat!
