Vehicle Description
1967 Chevrolet Nova SS
The 1960s Chevy II/Nova was one of Chevrolet's best selling models
and was sold as a compact car. It didn't take General Motors long
to realize they could put some of their bigger engines in these
cars and people would buy them for performance as well. Hence a
Nova ad that states " The Sleeper Awakes".
Dignifying our showroom space here at Classic Auto Mall is this
Nova SS stunner. I say this because one look at the fit, finish,
and paint on this car and you will not be able to restrain yourself
from being impressed. A certainly assured job well done, completed
6 years ago, very few faults, definitely a show car, however you do
not need to be afraid of taking it out on the weekends and blow out
some of the carbon buildup as dad used to say!
Exterior
Gosh where do I start..I could just say it's all great, and be
scary as to my accuracy, but I digress....A super shiny egg crate
grille with single headlights flanking either side, all surrounded
by beautiful trim work, and held up by an original re-plated bumper
with no faults in the chrome. The body steel is straight, and is
minding its gaps very nicely, all bathing in like new Ermine White.
A bit of a boxy styling for the wheel wells raked front lines and
rear of the car. A black vinyl top in excellent condition is on.
Bringing up the rear is a straight as an arrow trunk lid, and rear
squared off triangulated trimmed tail lights with a bumper below,
all re-plated and polished to factory looks. The paint is stunning
on this car, chrome is even better, and the black vinyl top is all
excellent. 15-inch rally wheels with deep dish trim rings are
wrapped in 205/60R15s in front, and 225/60R15's on back. 1967 never
looked so good!
Interior
What better to compliment the white and chrome of the exterior but
screaming red pristine vinyl. Door panels are factory like new with
the red and chrome trimmings. Slipping inside we see racy low back
bomber styled buckets with some tuck and roll edging, smooth
centers and a white stripe running through the middle of the smooth
inserts. A back bench emulates this and is like new just like the
buckets in front. All these float on a sea of red carpeting non
faded, and of course like new. The center hump has a brushed
aluminum geometric styled panel that houses the now manual shifter
lever topped with a white knob. All is very clean and very cool
looking. The dash holds its own with typical GM styling horizontal
speedo and side flanking fuel gauge and clock. In the center is the
factory radio and over to the glove box on the passengers side all
within a brushed aluminum strip. Above is a red padded dash top,
and below is a metal jacket panel with shiny pulls and knobs, temp
sliders and just below a trio of aftermarket gauges on a shiny
panel for more pulse keeping of the mill just in front of this
beautiful interior. Clean! Clean ! Clean!
Drivetrain
327 cubes in the form of a healthy, (circa 1968), V8 are happily
mounted in a pristine engine compartment home. A red/orange painted
block, chromed valve coverings and a dual snout air cleaner
covering also shining like a crazy diamond. Underneath this bling
is a 4-barrel carburetor and now a T10 4-speed manual tranny is
bolted to the rear. On the back is a 12 bolt 3.08 pumpkin that
makes the rear tires smoke. Supple hoses, nice wiring and all like
new features make this engine bay an A+++ presentation.
Undercarriage
When one states every nut and bolt was taken off this car for the
restoration, you would expect to see what is under this
car..nothing but clean, mechanically perfect, straight, shiny
compilation of parts working together as they should..amen! Disc
braking up front, and drums on the back, with stainless steel dual
exhaust mufflers under here. No rust seen anywhere.
Drive-Ability
A wonderfully clean car, so much so that I actually took a shower
prior to getting in...Actually that's a lie. I take a shower
everyday, but I digress. I slipped inside and off to the test track
where it performed flawlessly. Great everything and a like new car
out of the way back machine plopped right here at Classic Auto
Mall.
This car is a real highlighter here, and rightfully so. All the
attention to detail, restored to exactly how it looked in 1967, and
runs like a clock. Possession of this car will make you the
toughest block on your block. Deport your import and snap this one
up; it won't be here long. Good Ole' 'Merican Muscle at its finest
