Vehicle Description
V8 power, a premium color combo, and affordable price mean this
1966 Buick Skylark Convertible gives you the chance at a distinct
drop-top classic cruiser for an obtainable price.
We love this generation of Buick for their design lines. Both the
front and rear have a triple-point look where not only are the
fenders crisp, but also there's a well-defined center in the trunk
and hood, too. Plus, the chrome bumpers love to hug these design
lines for a look that's both sporty and sophisticated. So it's
quite a distinct style that Buick delivered 55+ years ago. And this
one likes to turn it up a notch with a memorable presentation. The
polished dual exhaust tips and Cragar SS wheels give you some
sporty style. The factory-correct Verde Green has some metallic in
it for a nice glow in the sunshine. This combines with the tan
convertible top for a premium color combo. And while the style
feels upper class, the overall fit and finish never takes itself
too seriously, and that means you have a classic that's easy to
take out and enjoy on a whim.
Since we like the way the tan roof looks against the deep green
exterior, we love to take it down and see a similar color combo
with the Light Fawn interior. The trim tag even tells us these are
the factory-correct colors. This one is all about being a fun and
easy cruiser. So there are nice comfort features like a power
convertible top and an upgraded AM/FM/CD stereo. And it's a
driver-oriented setup with front bucket seats, a center console
in-between, a floor shifter, an upgraded sports steering wheel, and
an under-dash auxiliary gauge trio.
The engine bay has a useful upgrade. It's a GM V8 but from the
Chevrolet side of the family. This 305 cubic-inch small block is
known for being hardy and having plenty of nice upgrades available.
In fact, this already has an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor, an
Edelbrock intake, and headers feeding the dual exhaust. It's the
kind of powerhouse that's fun to work on, and there's even a tach
uniquely placed on the firewall for added info. But even from day
one, this is a pleasant cruiser that includes premium features like
power steering, power brakes, front discs, and a three-speed
automatic transmission.
The sale comes complete with the owner's manual, maintenance
records, title documentation, and a history pamphlet on the car
suggesting this is only a three-owner convertible! A good Skylark
always offers distinction on the classic car scene, and this one
has the right additions to be an even more fun drop-top cruiser.
