Vehicle Description
This bright red 1950 Ford F-1 pickup is one of those trucks that
would be a smoking hot deal even at a much higher price. A
spectacular nut-and-bolt build, it was expertly finished to a very
high standard and runs via 350 Blueprint Crate V8 power under the
hood. Built to show off and collect trophies, it's also wonderful
to drive with loads of hidden goodies - from big power to its slick
paint job to the comfy A/C interior in the cab - and is offered
with a very reasonable price tag. Finished a mere 391 miles ago,
this dialed-in Ford pickup is a smoking hot deal, so read fast,
because it won't be with us very long.
We never use words like perfect or flawless (nothing in this world
is, let alone the subjective business of classis cars), but you
could spend a lot of time poring over the beautiful Ford E4 Red
paint on this beauty and not find many notable blemishes or
evidence of use. The finish is miles deep, with a luster and shine
that only modern urethanes can truly provide, and the recent,
uniform application is fresh enough that it still looks wet. That
sheetmetal was expertly put together as well (and yes, it's all
steel, with the hood, fenders, and running boards included) and is
super smooth today, along with excellent gaps and panel alignment
that can only come from long hours of tedious fitting and
adjusting. speaking of smooth, the front grille has been smoothed
and the blinkers have been hidden in the headlights. The stand-up,
old-school look of the 1st Generation F-Series trucks has always
made these trucks so darn popular, and builders did the right thing
by leaving the original design alone when they were putting this
beauty together. The cab looks practically new, showing off drip
rails that have probably never seen rain, and the slick bed
beautifully finished/painted bed walls along with gorgeous wood and
polished stainless strips and hardware inside that make it look
like a dance floor. You'll think twice before you throw any dirt
back there, although it's still certainly capable of hauling, and
if you look closer you'll see that the gas tank was relocated back
there for safety purposes. The builder's wanted the slick paint to
do most of the talking, so there's not a ton of chrome and
brightwork left, although the front grille, bumper, and remaining
trim on the hood and doors are all is fantastic condition,
providing a perfect amount of contrast to make that finish really
pop.
The comfortable black vinyl interior has a very simple yet elegant
feel, with a fit and finish that you just don't expect in most
vintage trucks. A modern, sculpted bench seat was swapped-in and
makes the most of the roomy cabin, and the supportive seat is
adjustable, features newer seatbelts, and matches the plush black
carpets that line the floors and inside of the cab. Stock metal
door panels and the original steel dash were painted red to the
same high level as the rest of the truck, and the billet gauge
bezel ahead of the driver was filled with Dolphin instruments that
keep a close eye on the truck's upgraded drivetrain. The upright
steering column got a brand new 3-spoke steering wheel, and it
matches the tall Lokar shifter that sticks out from the floor and
manages the TH400 3-speed automatic transmission below. And as far
as options go, the only one that ever really matters in a cruiser
is A/C, and thankfully this comes equipped with an under-dash unit
from Classic Auto A/C that works great.
Big power comes from a recently installed (installed in 2022 with
only 391 miles on the clock!) Blueprint 350 cubic inch V8 crate
motor rated at a stout 350+ horsepower. Topped with aluminum heads
and a brand new Holley 4-barrel carburetor atop an aluminum intake,
the small block is incredibly responsive up-and-down the throttle,
and it's been equipped with an HEI ignition and modern alternator
that fires it instantly, plated Ram's horn exhaust manifolds that
help it breathe, and a big radiator up front that keeps it cool.
The engine bay was finished to show standards with a smoothed red
firewall and matching inner fenders, bright red engine enamel on
the block itself, and chrome valve covers and a matching
open-element air cleaner that provide plenty of bling. A TH400
3-speed automatic transmission swaps the gears and a custom dual
exhaust system with Thrush mufflers gives it an awesome performance
bark that matches the truck's high-impact look. Underneath, things
are mostly stock but feature new components almost everywhere you
look, including new shocks, a new gas tank, and power steering and
power front disc brakes that all work together to vastly improve
this Ford's road manners. Everything is highly detailed, shiny,
polished, and painted to look its best, making this a truck that
needs no excuses on the show field or out on the road. Right-sized
US Mags chrome wheels fill those fat fenders using staggered
235/60/15 front and 275/60/15 BFGoodrich performance radials.
