Vehicle Description
This 1966 Ford Mustang GT is an A-code coupe with an awesomely
sporty style. After all, the attractive GT package only gets better
with its presence in triple-black. This is part of a detailed full
package whose impressiveness goes beyond knowing you have a V8 icon
of the open road.
The upgrade to black later in life certainly gave this an instant
upgrade in attitude. It has a good luster that makes this car
appealing in the sunshine. And the black vinyl roof is a great way
to add a premium distinction to this dark side. All that black
means the rocker triple stripe pops in red. The attractive
aggressiveness continues on the GT features, like the fog lights in
the grille, correct GT badging, and the dual exhaust mounted
through the rear valance. Plus, the styled steel wheels always add
a sporty touch. The whole package has a nice cruiser style where
you know this one is ready to drive, and it also knows how to
impress, right down to details like the good body lines and clean
glass. Some interesting details also add to this car's mystique. We
don't have paperwork like the original window sticker to prove this
is a GT, but the details are correct, right down to exhaust
reinforcements. So we feel it's quite lily to be authentic. Also,
the previous Florida title listed this as actual miles so that the
low odometer could represent the full mileage!
The dark attitude inside combines the paint and the roof to give
you an ultra-desirable triple-black presentation. Newer carpeting,
taut panels, and a clean look to the ultra-desirable premium "pony"
package seats make this stylish. Everything has a nice vintage feel
from the working courtesy lights to the premium wood-like trim. But
a GT car was built for driving. So you have better cruiser features
like a retro-style AM/FM/cassette stereo. And this was built for
driving with front bucket seats, a center console in-between, and
the three-spoke sports steering wheel that gives you a clear view
of the full gauges - including the desirable Rally Pac (currently
for display.)
This is an A-code car, so it's great to lift the hood and see a
well-done 289 cubic-inch V8. After all, the bright blue seems to
radiate power from within the dark, tidy engine bay. The V8 inhales
deeply with a four-barrel carburetor and exhales with a sweet tune
out of the dual exhaust. It's a strong runner, so the proper GT
features make it a better driver. This includes a larger master
cylinder and quick ratio power steering box. Add in the three-speed
automatic transmission, front disc brakes, and wide BF Goodrich
T/As, and you have a stand-out pony car that's awesome to enjoy
fully.
