Vehicle Description
This 1999 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am is a car that's built for fun.
It has a sleek black style, upgraded speedy details, and a loaded
A/C interior. Plus the powerful LS1 V8 has really been taken to the
next level with some nice additions.
Black is the color of choice for a mean machine, and so it fits
this T/A nicely. The overall idea of this one is to be sleek and
shiny while still being a fun car to hit the streets. This
driver-ready style is also seen in details like the upgraded
WS6-style fiberglass hood and upgraded exhaust tips are subtle
announcements that this has been given some nice investment in
added power. And while we'll get into the details of how this one
surpasses your expectations, it's good to know why. This has spent
over a decade in the same owner's care. In that time, he updated
and upgraded the car to be a fun weekend toy. So when it's a power
pleasure cruiser, it's the kind of car where you take some extra
thought and time to build a fun driver.
The charcoal interior keeps this dark attitude going, and adds
plenty of premium features into the mix. The leather bucket seats
not only power adjust to the ideal driving position, but also there
are bolstering controls to make this all-day comfy. It has all the
best features like power windows, power locks, cruise control,
keyless entry, steering wheel mounted controls, power steering, and
a Monsoon AM/FM/CD stereo with equalizer. Beyond just luxury
amenities, a modern classic also means modern safety with items
like dual airbags and anti-lock brakes. But your favorite features
will be the air conditioning and T-tops. Combined, they mean you
get the wind blowing through the interior while attacking your
favorite roads... and you get to remain as cool as you look doing
it.
Under the hood is the 5.7-liter LS1 fuel-injected engine. This
motor set a new standard for GM and gave the final-gen Trans Am a
hallmark powerhouse. But when it comes to this coupe, the aluminum
block V8 just makes for a nice base for the added go-fast goodies.
This has a FAST intake and fuel rails. Plus, we're told there's
also a Tick Performance Saturday Night Special camshaft, Brian
Tooley injectors, and the new package was professionally dialed-in
by Shor Tuning. This mightier motor fires up with that same
quickness you expect from a modern LS powerhouse, and now
ceramic-coated headers feed into an upgraded Mufflex Performance
exhaust. It's a far more powerful setup, and there's even the dyno
sheet to prove it! And this is more than just added power. The
already stout 4L60E four-speed transmission has been beefed up,
including an FTI 3600 stall converter. There's also a stronger
suspension with subframe connectors and new tubular rear arms. Add
this to four-wheel disc brakes, thick sway bars, and grippy
performance tires (with Nitto Extreme drag radials for the rear,)
and you have quite a fun power Pontiac.
